Position Summary
GeoSurfaces Midwest is seeking a motivated Project Manager responsible for overseeing project profitability and ensuring that all sports construction projects are thoroughly planned and successfully executed on time and within budget.
Operating in a fast-paced environment, the Project Manager must be a self-motivated, multi-tasking problem-solver capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from $1M to $20M, from project award through close-out.
This role requires a deep understanding of all operational aspects of civil construction. The Project Manager will collaborate closely with Construction Managers, Superintendents, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Engineers, Architects, and Clients to ensure all project requirements are met effectively and efficiently. The Project Manager must be able to professionally handle all conversations, negotiations, and disputes.
Essential Duties amp; Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects from start through closeout.
  • Responsible for project setup, budget entry into company software, issuance of purchase orders for materials, and maintenance of project files.
  • Create the master project schedule and submit proper project documents to the owner (including but not limited to contracts, bonds, insurance, SWPPP documents, etc.), subcontractor packets, and preparation, processing, and tracking of submittals and shop drawings.
  • Attend all required pre-construction, job site, substantial completion, and final completion meetings.
  • Conduct regular field inspections to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Prepare weekly job reports and monthly cost-to-complete reports, tracking project profit against budget.
  • Review and approve subcontractor monthly payment requests and submit applications for payment.
Qualifications amp; Experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager within a construction company.
  • Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred.
  • Previous experience managing civil engineering projects including dirt, concrete, pipe, liner, underground earthwork, etc. Vertical experience preferred.
  • PMP certification is a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to read and understand project plans and specifications.
  • Experience and knowledge of civil construction is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel ranging from $1M to $20M.
  • Moderate to high proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Procore or similar platform experience preferred.
  • HeavyBid experience preferred.
  • Oracle, OPC, or similar scheduling platform experience preferred.
  • Full understanding of construction math concepts.
  • NFHS rules knowledge a plus.
  • ASBA Certified Field Builder a plus.
Additional Requirements
  • Must have the ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Approximately 25% travel may be required.
  • New hire training and onboarding will be conducted at our Missouri offices in Bloomsdale and Cape Girardeau.
  • Salary will be based on years of experience in the civil construction space.
  • In addition to base salary, Project Managers are eligible for the Project Manager Bonus Program.
