ย Job Summary: The Tornos/Bechler operator's role involves loading raw materials, monitoring the machining process, adjusting machine settings as necessary, and ensuring the quality of the finished parts. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment, has a keen eye for detail, and is committed to delivering excellence.

Work Schedule: ย This is a full-time, benefits eligible position requiring approximately 40 hours per week. Core work schedule is Monday - Friday from 6:30am - 3:00pm. Individual must be flexible to work overtime as needed.


Pay Rate: $20-$24


Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:ย 

  • Operate Tornos/Bechler machines according to job specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
  • Load raw materials into the machine and monitor the machining process to ensure proper operation.
  • Inspect and verify part dimensions using precision measuring equipment to ensure conformance to specifications.ย 
  • Adjust machine settings as necessary to maintain product quality and meet production targets.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn components.
  • Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure they meet all quality requirements before releasing them for further processing or shipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Keep accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, production quantities, and any quality issues encountered.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and quality inspectors, to optimize production processes and improve product quality.
  • Complete any additional duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Similar previous machine operation experience and use of measuring equipment is a plus. ย 
  • A positive attitude and exceptional aptitude for growing your skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn the proper use of precision measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to read, understand, and accurately follow department processes and procedures.
  • Effective decision making and problem-solving skills with a drive for results.
  • Ability to prioritize time-sensitive projects/tasks.
  • A collaborative mindset that focuses on teamwork.
  • Detail orientation with the ability to accurately follow work instructions.
  • Basic math, computer, and data entry skills (previous ERP system experience a plus).
  • The ability to effectively use precision measuring instruments.
  • Vision corrected to 20/20 for accurate inspection of parts.
