Accounting Manager (Client Accounting Services)

Location: Remote
Compensation: $105,000-$135,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications

We are not your average accounting firm. We are a bookkeeping, accounting, tax, and consulting firm located in Doylestown, PA, providing services both onsite and virtually to a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries.

Unlike traditional corporate accounting roles, this position offers exposure to a wide range of accounting responsibilities and client environments, allowing team members to develop broad accounting expertise while serving as trusted advisors to clients.

This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys client interaction, team leadership, and solving complex accounting challenges across multiple businesses. You’ll work closely with clients, oversee a team of accountants, and help drive process improvements in a flexible, collaborative environment.


Position Summary

The Accounting Manager (Client Accounting Services) is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and managing a portfolio of client accounts. This role involves supervising and mentoring accounting staff while serving as a strategic advisor to clients and a key contributor to operational improvements.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in accounting principles, comfortable managing multiple client relationships simultaneously, and skilled in process improvement and team development


Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Client & Team Management

  • Act as a trusted advisor for a diverse portfolio of clients, identifying accounting needs and developing customized solutions
  • Evaluate client accounting processes, identify key concerns, and implement effective strategies utilizing the team’s expertise and technology resources
  • Lead, mentor, and review the work of Staff Accountants to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high-quality client service
  • Serve as a primary point of contact between internal teams and external clients, ensuring timely communication and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with company leadership to optimize workflows, improve efficiencies, and establish consistent operational practices
  • Complete ad hoc projects as needed, including operational analysis, audit support, and client-focused initiatives

Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Manage financial reporting and month-end close processes for a variety of client accounts
  • Oversee accurate and timely year-end financial reporting and account reconciliations
  • Provide high-level accounting support including bookkeeping oversight, adjusting journal entries, financial statement preparation, cash flow forecasting, and AP/AR support
  • Develop and improve financial reporting processes utilized both internally and externally
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, audits, and internal controls


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of accounting experience
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience managing or reviewing the work of accounting staff
  • Experience managing month-end close and financial reporting processes
  • Experience working in public accounting, outsourced accounting, or client accounting services environments
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-service mindset

  • CPA certification
