Job description

The Grove's Disability Inclusion Ministry exists to create an environment and community where people and families impacted by disabilities can be introduced to Jesus and transformed by him. The Ministry Coordinator position is designed to assist in cultivating an inclusive environment at The Grove so that families and people impacted by disabilities can feel loved, seen, supported and welcomed. As a part of the Disability Inclusion ministry team, this role will play a significant role in strategizing, as well as in assessing and evaluating ministry initiatives. The Disability Inclusion Ministry Coordinator works significantly with The Grove's other ministry teams.
Reports to: Disability Inclusion Ministry Director
Works with: Disability Inclusion ministry team, volunteers, families, Grove ministry teams
Works: Part Time, approximately 20 hours per week, exempt
MINISTRY LEADERSHIP - 25%
  • Coordinate and oversee weekend Disability Inclusion Ministry services as assigned, including leading one service on weekends as needed.
  • Occasionally provide leadership and oversight for all Disability Inclusion Ministry weekend services in the absence of the Disability Inclusion Ministry Director.
  • Support ministry programming during weekend and midweek services.
  • Assist with ministry event operations and implementation.
  • Provide care, support, and follow-up for individuals and families participating in Disability Inclusion Ministry.
  • Ensure sensory equipment and ministry resources are available, maintained, and prepared for services and events.
  • Support the planning, assessment, and evaluation of ministry initiatives alongside the Disability Inclusion Ministry Director.
VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP - 30%
  • Recruit, train, onboard, and equip Disability Inclusion Ministry volunteers.
  • Provide ongoing volunteer care, encouragement, communication, and support.
  • Schedule volunteers for weekend services, midweek programs, and special ministry events.
  • Ensure volunteers remain current with required documentation, training, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with developing and implementing volunteer training opportunities.
  • Foster a healthy volunteer culture that supports the mission and values of Disability Inclusion Ministry.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT - 35%
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for ministry emails, phone calls, and correspondence.
  • Respond to families, participants, and volunteers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate new family onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Maintain ministry records, databases, spreadsheets, and tracking documents.
  • Assist with communication efforts and promotional materials in partnership with the Communication team.
  • Maintain the sensory room, storage areas, and ministry spaces to ensure they remain clean, organized, and ready for use.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks that support ministry operations.
OTHER MINISTRY - 10%
  • Cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ like character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.
  • Attend disability inclusion ministry team meetings, church all-staff meetings, devotions and trainings.
