The Disability Allies is nonprofit organization with the mission of connecting young adults with and without disabilities. In order to accomplish this goal, we will help our participants improve their social skills and partner with community organizations to plan social events. Our events are open to anyone that has a disability, knows someone with a disability or is supportive of people with disabilities.

Job Description

Position Summary:

The Disability Allies (DA) is dedicated to providing social opportunities to connect young adults and children with and without disabilities. The Human Resources Assistant is a part time volunteer position that involves a commitment of a few hours a week. You must be willing to join us at our monthly meetings ย on the Second Saturday of the month. The Human Resources Assistant will assist the Human Resources Director with various human resources responsibilities. The title of the position is subject to change before being hired.


Responsibilities:

Provide customer service; screen and direct phone calls, take and relay messages, answer questions from associates and the public regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
Maintain human resources files ensuring timely and accurate records
Manages flow of Personnel Action Forms
Identify and attend industry specific job fairs and recruiting events
Data entry
Support new hire activities related to hiring and processing to include background checks, reference checks and coordination of drug testing
Assist HR Director in research projects
Other assignments as directed by HR Director

Qualifications

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Work under steady pressure with frequent interruptions and high degree of contact by phone and in-person
Must be able to multi-task
Ability to work in a team and independently
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and timelines
