Intake Coordinator
Working Nurses Homecare
Margate, FL
On-site position
Schedule: Tuesday- Saturday 8:30am-5:30pm, 1 hour lunch 12p-1p
Job Description
The primary responsibility for the Intake Coordinator is to review and process all incoming referrals timely and accurately including Medicare and other insurance eligibility verifications and facilitate the coordination of the Start of Care.
Responsibilities
• The Intake Coordinator will be responsible for receiving referrals, verifying insurance eligibility, and coordinating the start of care.
• Receive and review referrals from physicians, case managers, Area managers and other referral sources.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with referral sources, responding to their requests and concerns timely and professionally.
• Manage all aspects of the patient intake process in a timely manner
• Responsible for obtaining accurate referral information
• Request verification of insurance benefits and authorizations from the Authorizations Dept.
• Coordinate with scheduling department to initiate home health services.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in EMR
• Serve as the main point of contact during the intake process and provide updates as necessary.
• Answering phone calls, handling a variety of administrative tasks within the office environment
Qualifications
• At least 1 years' experience as an Intake Coordinator in a home health setting required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and manage high-volume workloads
• Proficiency with electronic medical records software (Kan Time) a plus
• Ability to handle stress & work in fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy
• Strong computer skills, including database management and Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel
• Bi-lingual strongly preferred
