Job Description

We are seeking an Accessibility Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in WCAG-driven accessibility testing across web, mobile, and desktop and a proven ability to identify, document, and drive remediation of accessibility barriers to achieve compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive manual and automated accessibility evaluations for web, mobile (iOS/Android), and desktop applications.
  • Test against WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA, W3C specifications, ADA, and Section 508.
  • Validate accessibility requirements across the SDLC from design through production deployment.
  • Evaluate with assistive technologies including screen readers, magnifiers, voice recognition, alternative input devices, and keyboard-only navigation.
  • Identify and document issues impacting users with visual, color contrast, low vision, motor and mobility, cognitive and learning, and hearing impairments.
  • Create actionable defect documentation with steps, impacted users, compliance mapping, severity, and remediation guidance.
  • Collaborate with developers to investigate root causes, validate fixes, and support defect triage with risk assessments.
  • Verify remediation and perform regression testing to ensure sustained compliance.
  • Support governance by maintaining adherence to standards, monitoring regulatory changes, and contributing to testing strategies and frameworks.
  • Provide audit support with documentation, testing evidence, and compliance reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Expertise with WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA, W3C standards, and WAI-ARIA.
  • Thorough knowledge of Section 508 and ADA requirements.
  • Understanding of inclusive design and accessible UX methodologies.
  • Hands-on testing experience for web apps, responsive sites, mobile apps, and desktop applications.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, semantic HTML, ARIA roles and attributes, keyboard interaction, and accessible forms.
  • Proficiency with accessibility tools: Axe DevTools, Accessibility Insights, WAVE, Lighthouse, ARC Toolkit, Tenon, Siteimprove.
  • Proficiency with assistive technologies: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, ZoomText, Dragon NaturallySpeaking.
  • Experience creating test plans, test cases, and validation procedures with strong defect management.
  • Ability to translate standards into testable outcomes in Agile, Scrum, or SAFe environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • IAAP certifications: CPACC, WAS.
  • Experience integrating accessibility testing into CI/CD pipelines and using automation frameworks or scripts.
  • Experience with enterprise digital transformation, compliance reporting, audit preparation, and design systems with accessibility governance.
