NOTICE OF ANTICIPATED VACANCY

The Board of Education invites applications from qualified candidates for the following position:

LEARNING DISABILITIES TEACHER-CONSULTANT (LDTC)

2026-2027 School Year

Full-Time. Permanent Position

Primary/Elementary Schools

Position Overviewย 

The Millstone Township School District is seeking a qualified, student-centered Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDTC). The LDTC plays a vital role in identifying and supporting students with learning needs through assessment, consultation, program development, and collaboration with educators and families.

Qualifications

  • Valid New Jersey Educational Services Certificate with LDTC endorsement
  • Knowledge of current NJ special education code, evaluation procedures, and best practices in special education
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

Performance Responsibilities

  • Participate in the evaluation, classification, and placement of students referred to the Child Study Team
  • Assess the academic functioning and learning characteristics of referred students and prepare comprehensive written reports
  • Interpret assessment findings through both formal reports and consultation with parents and staff
  • Assist in the development, coordination, and monitoring of individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Consult regularly with teachers, administrators, and families to support differentiated instruction and appropriate interventions
  • Serve as a case manager for assigned students, ensuring timely evaluations, meetings, and IEP reviews
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with NJ Administrative Code and district policy
  • Provide ongoing input for the placement and programming of classified students
  • Participate in continued professional development
  • Stay current with trends and research in special education, learning disabilities, and state/federal regulations

Salary Range:ย  $71,415 to $84,665*

Salary & Benefits: *Per negotiated contract based on years of experience & degrees earned
