Job description

Clear Behavioral Health is dedicated to supporting individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges through compassionate, holistic, and evidence-based care. We provide a full continuum of services, including detox, dual diagnosis treatment, residential and outpatient programs, and specialized mental health services, all delivered by a multidisciplinary team of experienced clinicians and support professionals. Our person-centered approach focuses on treating the whole individual, while empowering clients with the tools, structure, and support needed to achieve long-term recovery and lasting stability.
Summary of Position
As Clinical Director at Clear Behavioral Health, your role is central to leading our clinical team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality behavioral health services. The Clinical Director will oversee all clinical operations, provide clinical supervision and guidance to staff, and contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives. This leadership role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to promoting the well-being of individuals within our community. Your leadership extends to strategic planning, community engagement, and maintaining a positive representation of the programs and organization.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight:
  • Provide clinical leadership and direction to the clinical team, ensuring adherence to best
  • practices and ethical standards.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Staff Supervision and Development:
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to therapists, counselors, and other clinical staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Program Development and Quality Improvement:
  • Collaborate with the Program Director and other key stakeholders to develop and implement new curriculum and clinical practices within programs.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of clinical services.

Client Care and Case Management:
  • Monitor client progress and ensure that treatment plans are individualized, and evidence based.
  • Provide clinical consultation and support for complex cases and crisis situations.
  • Intervene as needed, clinically, with clients to support staff specifically with crisis management and AMA risks.
  • On-call during program hours.

Facilitating Clinical Program Support:
  • Facilitate weekly team clinical meetings to oversee clinicians with treatment planning, interventions, and coordination of care.
  • Co-facilitate weekly family groups with the Program Director to enhance family involvement in treatment.
  • Facilitate assessments, group therapy, and individual therapy sessions as necessary to support programs and provide coverage for clinician absences.

Training and Development:
  • Provide training based on updated clinical standards, documentation protocols, and crisis management techniques.
  • Support staff in staying abreast of current trends and developments in the field of behavioral health.
  • Closely monitor all staff under their supervision, meeting regularly for feedback and training, and communicates to direct reports regularly on

Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Review and sign clinical documentation to ensure clinical accuracy and relevance to treatment plans and diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with compliance team to ensure continual adherence standards with The Joint Commission, the State of California, and all other governing bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct all performance evaluations for therapists and collaborate with Program Directors on performance evaluations for trainees/counselors.

Collaboration and Organization Representation:
  • Collaborates with the business development team to engage in community events and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborates with recruitment department to acquire clinical talent.
  • Collaborates with marketing department to develop and conduct CE event(s).
  • Leadership and Continuous Improvement:
  • Demonstrate competency in leadership skills, work, and service.
  • Participate and provide evidence of current relevant continuing education beyond the minimum requirements.

Other Functions and Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Clinical Officer.
  • Represent Program positively in all marketing opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling).
  • Current licensure as a clinical psychologist, licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), licensed professional counselor (LPC), or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong clinical skills, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Commitment to cultural competence and diversity in clinical practice.
  • Previous employee supervisory experience.

Pay: $145,000 - $155,000 per year
Schedule: Monday through Friday(fully on-site).
