The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance activities of the Bulk Products Department. Incumbent provides the required knowledge and skills to maintain the facility's equipment and structures to optimize operations to meet planned production requirements. This working supervisor position will work closely with the maintenance staff to support the operating schedule.
You will have the opportunity to:
  • Provide both preventative and predictive maintenance for the facility to minimize outages from breakdowns.
  • Perform a variety of skilled electrical and mechanical equipment repairs and assist with equipment installations.
  • Assist and advise staff on the more complex or difficult tasks.
  • Perform on-call duties for after-hour emergencies, such as reviewing the nature of the emergency and either performing maintenance repair or contacting appropriate staff to resolve the problem.
  • Establish and maintain records and checklists to ensure inspection schedules are implemented on a timely basis.
  • Maintain files for equipment for purposes of identification of required spare parts.
  • Responsible for maintenance costs. Review costs on a monthly basis and take appropriate action to correct problem areas.
  • Responsible for maintenance of plant safety devices. Ensure they are functioning as designed.
  • Evaluates and communicate risks associated with potential environmental impacts.
  • Monitors environmental programs and procedures. Responsible for updating and maintaining various environmental reports including air velocity testing, air pollution emissions report, confined space permits, and utilities sanitary discharge reports.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement design changes to increase production, improve safe operation, and decrease operating costs.
  • Work closely with plant operating personnel to ensure adequate availability of facilities to meet production requirements.
  • Ensure operating personnel are performing proper, on-time maintenance as directed, with emphasis on minor facility repair.
  • Ensure all employees under his/her supervision know, understand, and follows all environmental, health, and safety rules and regulations pertaining to the plant.
  • Assist the Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Health and Safety functions to secure and maintain Strip's Quality registrations.
  • Determine the need for outside contractors and assist in preparing bid specifications and selecting contractors. Serve as liaison with contractors and review work of contractors for conformity to standards. Ensure the safety of contractors.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Individual must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • A degree in Engineering or technology equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory / leadership experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience with a strong hands-on mentality.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • The ability to work independently and in teams is also essential.
