Job Description Summary

The Recruitment Web Developer reports to the Director of EMSS Operations and works in close partnership with the University Communications and Marketing (UCM) team to build modern, user-focused digital experiences for prospective students at Miami University. This role focuses on building and maintaining custom portals, landing pages, and interactive web experiences that support recruitment and communication efforts.
Working closely with marketing, enrollment, and technical teams, you will help translate recruitment strategies into responsive, accessible, and scalable web experiences powered by our recruitment system, Slate. The role emphasizes front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with building personalized content and integrating systems that support communication and engagement with prospective students.
This is an opportunity to work on high-visibility digital experiences seen by hundreds of thousands of prospective students each year while contributing to the continued evolution of recruitment technology and communications at Miami University.

  • Develop and maintain custom portals to support recruitment, admission, and marketing initiatives.

  • Build dynamic, personalized web content using modern front-end techniques and CRM-driven data.

  • Partner with marketing and admission teams to translate campaign strategy into scalable technical solutions.

  • Lead HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development for emails, landing pages, and interactive portal experiences, with a strong focus on accessibility and performance.

  • Implement segmentation and personalization strategies defined by marketing and operations teams.

  • Collaborate with technologists and stakeholders to integrate institutional systems with marketing automation, analytics, and other platforms.

  • Stay current with evolving web technologies and digital engagement trends to drive innovation in recruitment communications.

  • Contribute to improving front-end experiences and technical capabilities within our recruitment systems.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's Degree and two years of experience, or five years of experience.

  • Experience designing, developing, and deploying customer-facing web solutions.

  • Experience with a CRM or marketing technology platform (e.g., Technolutions Slate, Salesforce, or similar systems).

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience with APIs, Liquid, or advanced web development features for data integration and dynamic content.

  • 3 years of experience integrating CRM platforms with marketing automation, analytics, or reporting tools.

  • Experience supporting higher education marketing, enrollment, or customer-facing digital communications at scale.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience building interactive, accessible, and high-performance digital spaces.

  • Strong eye for layout, usability, and interaction design.

  • Ability to translate brand and marketing goals into polished digital experiences.

  • Familiarity with marketing platforms, data-driven content, or personalization is a plus.
