Job description

BCom is a fast-growing, digital-first marketing agency that amplifies purpose-driven ideas. We partner with campaigns, causes, and brands to do work that matters. From online fundraising to media, advertising, and creative, our team has raised millions of dollars, built coalitions, and won tough fights. We're building something special and looking for top talent to help take it to the next level. As we work toward ambitious growth goals, we want driven, strategic thinkers who are committed to doing great work and building something meaningful together.

We are hiring a Senior Web Designer to lead the quality, consistency, and execution of digital experiences across campaigns, brands, and client engagements. This is a hands-on role focused on designing and building high-performance websites that bring creative vision to life through thoughtful UI and UX execution. In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of website development, from site mapping and wireframing in Figma to final build and launch in WordPress using a page builder, translating high-level creative direction into polished, interactive digital experiences. Partnering closely with the Art Director - Design and Creative Director while owning execution, you will ensure all websites are visually strong, intuitive to navigate, mobile responsive, accessible, and optimized for performance and conversion, collaborating with strategists, copywriters, designers, and account teams to deliver high-impact web solutions that align with client goals and drive results.

At BCom, we take pride in delivering top-tier work while showing up for each other. With our mission at the forefront, we center honesty, collaboration, and meaningful relationships in everything we do. If you're looking to grow with a team rooted in purpose and committed to impact, we would like to meet you!

 Key Areas of Responsibility

UI/UX Design & Prototyping

  • Translate abstract client goals and brand guidelines into intuitive sitemaps, wireframes, and user flows.
  • Design high-fidelity website mockups and interactive prototypes in Figma, establishing the visual language for digital projects.
  • Apply modern UI/UX principles to ensure websites are user-friendly, accessible (WCAG standards), and responsive across all screen sizes.
  • Create web design systems, including button styles, typography hierarchies, page sections, and component libraries, to ensure consistency across pages.
  • Present design concepts to internal teams and clients, articulating the rationale behind layout and usability decisions.

CMS Implementation & Build

  • Take approved designs and build them pixel-perfectly within WordPress using the Elementor page builder (or similar frameworks).
  • Manage the technical setup of pages, including installing necessary plugins, configuring forms, and integrating third-party tools (CRMs, donation platforms).
  • Collaborate with back-end developers on complex functionality, providing them with clear design assets and specifications.
  • Conduct thorough Quality Assurance (QA) testing across browsers and devices to ensure the site functions flawlessly before launch.

Site Maintenance & Optimization

  • Execute ongoing website updates, landing page creation, and content refreshes for existing clients.
  • Troubleshoot visual bugs, broken links, or layout shifts that occur after browser or plugin updates.
  • Optimize images and assets for web performance to ensure fast load times and strong Core Web Vitals scores.
  • Monitor live sites for design consistency and recommend visual improvements or modernizations as trends and client needs evolve.
Required Skills

Hard Skills

  • Mastery of Figma for web design, prototyping, and developer handoff.
  • Expertise in WordPress and page builders (specifically Elementor) for custom site construction.
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS to customize themes and troubleshoot layout issues beyond the limitations of a page builder.
  • Understanding of SEO best practices (structure, hierarchy, speed) and digital accessibility standards.
  • Experience integrating marketing tools (forms, tracking pixels, CRMs) into web pages.

Soft Skills

  • Ability to balance aesthetic beauty with the functional realities of site performance and loading speed.
  • Determination to figure out why a layout is breaking or a plugin is conflicting without needing immediate developer intervention.
  • Comfortable speaking the languages of both "Art" (Designers) and "Code" (Developers).
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable working across teams, roles, and functions.
  • Comfortable presenting work to clients and internal partners in a confident, compelling way.
  • Creative problem solver with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Receptive to feedback and committed to iterative improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The purpose-driven work that our clients rely on us for every day is challenging and edgy. It can be stressful at times. We rely on a shared set of company values that serve as the ultimate guide for team, client and company growth. All successful applicants must align with BCom's company values which include:

One boat, one mission. We row in the same direction to serve the mission of our company. Do good for our clients and for each other. Collaborate in a way that eases the workload and burden for everyone. Our collective effort is greater than the sum of its parts.

Win the tough fights. Outcomes matter. We keep our clients and their success and goals at the front of everything we do. Purpose-driven work is edgy, fast-paced and challenging. We fight to win every day.

Be present. To win, you have to compete. To compete, you have to show up. We show up for our teammates, for our clients, and for our communities.

Relationships matter. We forge meaningful connections with our clients, our teammates, and the communities we serve - from our founding in rural America to the halls of the nation's capital.

Be honest. We tell the truth with our clients and with each other. We're honest about our work and the way we do it. Honesty is easy - and convenient -  when things are working. It's hard - but required - when things are tough.

 Benefits
  • 100% coverage for employee medical, dental and vision plans
  • 401(k) Plan
  • Paid time off
  • Paid company holidays
  • Unlimited sick leave
  • Flexible remote work options
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave

The salary range for this position is $77,300 - $100,500
