Job Description

Responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
  • Perform quality work without direct or continual supervision and be able and willing to work on all work assigned to him/her.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of, with some assistance: engines, power train to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, steering and suspension systems, electronics to include ECM's, PCM’s, ECU's, sensors, etc.
  • Communicate with our Parts Department to obtain needed parts
  • Save and tag parts if the repair is under warranty or requested by the customer
  • Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required
  • Road-test vehicles when requested
  • Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned
  • Attend factory-sponsored training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
  • Ensure that serviced vehicles are returned in clean, showroom condition
  • Keep Service Area neat. Be able to account for dealership-owned tools at all times
  • Follow government regulations such as those governing the disposal of hazardous waste
  • Follow safety procedures and immediately report accidents to manager or supervisor
Requirements
  • At least two years of automotive service technician is preferred.
  • Volkswagen Service Technician experience required, at least 1 year
  • General mechanical skills
  • Pennsylvania State and Emissions Inspection License
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. ASE certification preferred.
  • Must have own tools
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable, safe driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
