Job description

The Sr. Director / Vice President of Finance is a senior finance leader and strategic business partner responsible for helping scale a multi-entity, growth-oriented insurance organization. This role combines strong technical accounting and financial reporting capabilities with hands-on FP&A, operational finance, and M&A support. The ideal candidate will bring a background grounded in rigorous financial discipline, executive-level reporting, Board and lender reporting, process improvement, and acquisition-driven growth—and will serve as a key leader across budgeting, forecasting, integration, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead core finance processes including annual budget, rolling forecast, variance analysis, and executive, Board, and lender reporting.
  • Partner with the CFO and operating leaders to translate business strategy into financial targets, operating metrics, and actionable performance insights.
  • Build financial models and decision support for, compensation, producer economics, carrier and customer profitability, capital allocation, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Support acquisition activity from diligence through post-close integration, including quality of earnings review, purchase accounting coordination, synergy tracking, and operating integration.
  • Improve finance infrastructure, reporting packages, and processes to increase speed, accuracy, transparency, and scalability.
  • Drive cash flow forecasting and working capital management
  • Develop a high-performing finance team and serve as a trusted cross-functional partner to operations, HR, technology, and agency leadership.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field required. An MBA or other advanced finance credential is a plus. CPA is a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience across accounting, FP&A, strategic finance, transaction support, or related finance leadership roles; title to be aligned to depth of experience and scope.
  • Background that mirrors a CFO-track profile: public accounting, audit, transaction advisory, corporate finance. Private-equity-backed/multi-entity operating experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in executive, Board and lender reporting, budgeting and forecasting, financial modeling, process improvement, and partnering with senior leaders on business decisions.
  • Experience in insurance brokerage, financial services, or other acquisitive, decentralized, multi-location environments is highly desirable.
  • Comfort operating as both a strategic thinker and a hands-on executor who can move between board-level analysis and detailed operational follow-through.
  • Excellent judgment, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across functions and build credibility quickly.

Success in the Role

  • Establish a reliable, decision-ready monthly finance cadence with improved reporting, forecast accuracy, and clear KPI ownership.
  • Strengthen finance processes across reporting and integrations to support continued growth.
  • Provide high-quality analysis and recommendations that improve profitability, accountability, and speed of decision-making.
  • Serve as a credible second chair to the CFO and a trusted partner to the broader executive team.

This position can be calibrated as Sr. Director or Vice President based on the selected candidate’s experience, leadership scope, and ability to own enterprise-wide initiatives.
