What you'll be doing...
You'll have a front seat to state state-of-the-art systems, applications, and infrastructures at one of the leading global technology companies. As part of National Network Operations, you'll be responsible for the physical network equipment, distribution of power, and space allocation in data center locations. You'll coordinate all equipment, provide hardware support, coordinate installation, testing, and troubleshooting of transmission facilities, and support a multifaceted user community. Your work will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and quality of our network.
  • Writing, reviewing, and approving methods of procedures (MOPs), and ensuring they are followed.
  • Entering Network Change Controls in the NCC system per Network requirements.
  • Handling vendor power installation, operation, and maintenance.
  • Monitoring and maintaining data center physical hardware and cabling, and keeping an inventory of equipment and spares.
  • Maintaining electrical panel schedules in the data enter through the IFP tool.
  • Performing financial tasks related to Data Center activity.

What we're looking for...
While you consider yourself an independent self-starter, you're also a great teammate that communicates effectively with a variety of people. Organized and detail oriented, you're a strong project coordinator with the ability to handle timelines and budgets. You're not afraid to be a leader in a fast-paced, highly-visible environment.
You'll need to have:
  • Associate's degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
  • Driver's license.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and be on call.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • An Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Data Center Operations Certifications such as CDCMP, DCOS, or CDCP.
  • Training in at least 3 of the following areas: Data networking and communications, wireless technologies, digital communications, operating systems and applications, telecommunications, or power distribution.
  • Experience in physical hands-on installation and troubleshooting of network transport, transmission and layer 1 network devices, including DACS and DCS panels and cross connects.
  • General knowledge of optical transmission equipment administration and maintenance also considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with Protocol Analysis, Packet Capture, Wireshark, NetScout, Fluke, T-Berd and other Fiber test tools.
  • General knowledge in the use of electronic test equipment. Ideally, National Electrical Code knowledge.
  • Power experience, including DC power systems, AC power systems, UPS systems, branch circuit installation for AC and DC distribution systems fed from AC PDUs and DC BDFBs.
  • Knowledge in PeopleSoft Account software and MS Office computer applications like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or Access.
