This 103-room resort, set on 12 acres with a 2.5-acre private white-sand beach, offers standalone beach houses and garden guest rooms, three sparkling pools, and vibrant dining at Butterfly Café and TJ's Tiki Bar. With a focus on exceptional service and immersive water-centric experiences, Tranquility Bay captures the laid-back elegance of island life.
Job Summary
Tranquility Bay Beachfront Resort is seeking a dependable and hardworking Houseperson to join our Housekeeping team.
The Houseperson plays an important role in supporting daily housekeeping operations by maintaining clean and welcoming public areas, assisting Room Attendants with linens and supplies, removing trash and soiled linen, and helping with heavier cleaning and furniture-moving tasks.
The ideal candidate is reliable, takes pride in maintaining a clean environment, and enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced resort setting.
Key Responsibilities
Public Area Cleaning
  • Clean and maintain resort public areas including restrooms, hallways, stairwells, foyers, elevators, and other assigned spaces
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, polish, and sanitize surfaces according to resort standards
  • Empty trash receptacles and properly dispose of waste
  • Clean mirrors, elevator doors, guest room door numbers, walls, doors, and other high-touch surfaces
  • Remove spots and marks from corridor walls, doors, and other surfaces
  • Straighten furniture and décor to maintain a clean and welcoming appearance
  • Monitor assigned areas throughout the shift and address cleanliness needs as they arise

Room Attendant & Housekeeping Support
  • Remove soiled linens and trash from Room Attendant carts and designated guest room areas
  • Deliver clean linens, amenities, cleaning supplies, and other items to Room Attendants as needed
  • Restock housekeeping supplies and assist in maintaining organized storage and linen areas
  • Assist with turning mattresses and moving furniture as directed
  • Assist with deep-cleaning projects and special housekeeping assignments
  • Support carpet and upholstery cleaning by moving and replacing furniture as needed
  • Assist Room Attendants and other Housekeeping team members during high-volume periods to ensure efficient operations

Guest Service
  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Respond to guest questions and requests promptly and courteously
  • Provide directions and general resort information when requested
  • Communicate guest requests to the appropriate department when additional assistance is needed

Safety & Resort Standards
  • Identify and report maintenance concerns, hazardous conditions, suspicious activity, or safety concerns promptly
  • Follow all resort safety, security, sanitation, and emergency procedures
  • Use cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment safely and according to established procedures
  • Maintain housekeeping equipment and work areas in a clean and organized condition
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions
  • Perform additional duties, special assignments, and projects as requested by management

Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
  • Previous housekeeping, cleaning, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
  • Dependable and able to complete assigned tasks efficiently
  • Friendly and professional when interacting with guests and team members
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Ability to move furniture, housekeeping carts, linens, and supplies as required
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions
