Purpose: The Director of Distribution & Logistics is responsible for leading all distribution center operations across assigned regional locations. This role drives operational excellence, inventory optimization, and service level improvements while ensuring efficient product flow throughout the supply chain network.
Essential Functions:
  • Oversees end-to-end distribution center operations across multiple assigned locations, establishes and monitors KPIs including order accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory turns, and cost per unit while driving productivity improvements and maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Streamlines inventory levels across all locations to minimize overstocking and stockouts while balancing demand fluctuations; develops inventory control strategies, ensures accuracy through cycle counting programs, and collaborates with planning teams for optimal stock positioning
  • Ensures faster delivery times, improved order/delivery accuracy, and better fulfillment options for terminals and customers; develops strategies to exceed SLAs, enhances customer satisfaction metrics, and leads continuous improvement initiatives
  • Determines how products move from supply points to multiple facilities through strategic decisions on cross-docking, direct shipping to terminals, transfer strategies, and transportation partnerships to reduce costs and improve service efficiency
  • Leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures across all distribution operations; ensures compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards while championing process documentation and conducting regular audits
  • Recruits, hires, trains, and develops distribution center management teams across assigned locations; builds high-performing cultures focused on accountability and continuous improvement; provides coaching, conducts performance evaluations, and creates succession planning strategies
  • Develops and manages operating budgets for assigned distribution centers; identifies cost reduction opportunities while maintaining service quality; analyzes financial performance and leads capital expenditure projects for equipment and facility improvements
  • Leverages warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms, and data analytics tools to optimize operations; identifies opportunities for automation and process improvements while ensuring seamless technology integration across all locations
  • Provides strategic direction and hands-on leadership across geographically dispersed facilities; implements standardized best practices while adapting to local market needs; drives organizational change initiatives and ensures consistent operational excellence
  • Partners with planning, procurement, transportation, sales, and customer service teams to align distribution operations with business objectives; communicates performance results to senior leadership and influences supply chain strategy decisions
  • Maintains positive labor relations and effectively manages union partnerships, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and fostering collaborative problem-solving

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:
  • Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience mustexceed 8 years:
    • In a leadership role: Requires 3 years of experience supervising a team of professionals engaged in executing distributions & logistics programs
    • In a technical role: Requires 8 years of experience engaged in developing and delivering distributions & logistics programs
      • A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or program related to the functional area can count for 2 of the 8-year requirement
  • Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits:
    • Knowledge of retail or consumer goods industry with understanding of travel retail concepts and multi-brand environments
    • Strong financial acumen with solid understanding of growth and profitability drivers; ability to navigate P&L statements, analyze key financial metrics, and drive KPI results
    • Demonstrated expertise in retail product and service quality standards
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including managers, hourly associates, union representatives, brand partners in a professional and inclusive manner
    • Strong organizational and critical thinking abilities with proven track record of managing multiple concurrent priorities and implementing solutions to complex operational challenges
