Job description

The Role:  As the Technical Service Manager - Lubricants, reporting to the Director - Technical Services, you will support the sales team to grow regional margin by promoting existing products to new customers and new products to the market. You will be responsible for identifying unmet needs and translate those into R&D targets for new product development defining application performance parameters and related test methods. Additionally, you must understand the value in use and support the team to develop quantified value proposition ($/kg) compared to next best alternative.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • In alignment with sales, drive sales of existing products to new customers and sales of new products owning the technical part of the customer interaction
  • Ownership of all customer related technical challenges
  • As part of the global cross functional team, identify, qualify and quantify (unmet) market or customer needs, convert those into R&D objectives, define related test methods and ensuring timely commercialization 
  • Development of quantified value propositions for the existing and new products
  • Ownership of technical and scientific marketing & product support to customers including promotion material, value props, TDS, internal and external trainings / seminars, tradeshows
  • Maintain and improve safe working environment in the laboratory 
  • Strong awareness of regulatory development
  • Develop technical brochures for presentations to customers
  • Maintain product documentation and formulations library to support performance
     

Creating Extraordinary Starts With: 

  • BS Degree in Chemistry or Engineering field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with lubricants application and technology
  • Experience designing formulations, experiments and to convert test results in to value propositions
  • Experience presenting technical results to customers and converting to a sale 
  • Strong reporting, presentation, and communication skills
