As a respected regional leader in ophthalmology care, our organization serves patients throughout the East Metro and Western Wisconsin from our headquarters in Stillwater, Minnesota. Guided by our commitment to “Vision for a Lifetime,” we are seeking a dynamic Director of Clinic & Surgical Operations to drive performance, efficiency, and exceptional patient care across our clinics and ambulatory surgery center. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, results-driven leader who can align people, processes, and systems to achieve operational excellence and support outstanding patient outcomes. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience and skills, with an anticipated minimum salary of $150,000 annually, plus benefits.

Position Summary

The Director of Clinic & Surgical Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for Associated Eye Care’s clinic and ambulatory surgery center operations across multiple locations. This role is responsible for operational performance, patient access, workflow optimization, financial stewardship, employee engagement, regulatory readiness, and the overall patient and physician experience. This position partners closely with physicians, executive leadership, and department leaders to improve operational efficiency, support organizational growth, enhance patient care delivery, and maintain high standards of service in a fast-paced ophthalmology environment. This position serves as a key operational leader responsible for aligning people, processes, and systems to support organizational success.

Education & Licensing

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible healthcare operations or medical practice management experience required
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary and multi-site healthcare operations in a fast-paced environment required
  • Multi-site clinic operations and ambulatory surgery center experience strongly preferred
  • Ophthalmology operations experience strongly preferred
Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of clinic and ambulatory surgery center operations
  • Understanding of ophthalmology workflows, diagnostic testing, and surgical coordination preferred
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and operational compliance
