Job description
PRG is the world's leading technology provider within the entertainment and events industry. Our mission is to bring together the power of our people with our production and rental expertise to deliver unforgettable events.
PRG has the largest inventory of production equipment for hire and offers a complete 360-degree range of services to clients within the live events industry. These include music touring and festivals, TV & Film, Theatre, Sports and E-sports and Corporate live events. Our clients and partners rely on PRG's innovation, experience and in-depth expertise in video, lighting, rigging, staging, virtual productions, and set & automation systems to bring their creative visions to life. With 38 offices located in North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, PRG offers the ability to provide services worldwide by collaborating with our local partners.
Responsibilities
The Director, Sports Partnerships is a business development role responsible for managing a
sports partnerships strategy and identifying, developing, and securing new national and
international sales opportunities. Primary focus will be on team activations, fan experiences and
sports tours.
This is a hunter role. You are pipeline-obsessed. You open doors and thrive on building
relationships from scratch. Are you motivated by the chase? Energized by the close?
Target partnerships could include:
- Professional sports leagues, teams & college athletics - including league/team marketing
offices, stadium and arena ownership groups, and their fan zone, season activation, and
event programming - Major event organizing & host committees
- Sports tours & traveling properties
- Sports marketing & experiential agencies - often the procurement gatekeeper even when
the work is for a team or league - Brand sponsors with active sports marketing budgets - e.g., beverage, auto, tech, and
financial-services sponsors funding team activations and fan tours independent of the
rights holder - Combat sports, sports entertainment & esports - stadium-scale fan experience and
activation builds
The Director drives revenue through contracting lighting, audio, and video services, labor
support and custom scenic environments. As a highly visible role representing PRG's Corporate
& Brand Experiences Group in the marketplace, the Director maintains a high level of
professionalism in every client and partner setting. The role is eligible for the PRG commission
plan.
The Director cultivates long-term, multidisciplinary, high-level client partnerships with an
emphasis on profitable scenic work. This individual works closely with Sales & Estimation,
Technical Design, and Project Management teams to develop concepts, budgets, and proposals
This position will report directly to our Chief Commercial Officer.
Essential Functions
- Identify, pursue, and secure new national and international sales opportunities, with a
primary focus on the sports vertical - Build and maintain long-term client relationships, emphasizing repeat business
- Collaborate with Technical Design, Estimation, and Operations to align creative concepts
with feasible, cost-effective scenic solutions - Coordinate internal technical and service resources during early-stage project
development - Lead the RFP and presentation process from concept through award, including strategy,
pricing, and value positioning - Define project scope with clients, including scenic elements, budget, schedule, and
resource requirements - Identify and expand revenue opportunities within accounts, increasing scenic scope and
project value - Maintain accurate Salesforce records (Accounts, Opportunities, Contacts, Projects) per
PRG standards - Position scenic as a lead discipline in client conversations, not just a supporting scope
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and client events to build
brand presence and generate leads

entertainment segments, translating market opportunity into structured business plans,
revenue growth, and margin expansion. - Industry Credibility & Market Presence: Recognized and trusted leader within the
sports ecosystem, with the relationships and reputation to strengthen PRG's positioning
across key client and partner networks. - Operational Excellence: Effective in fast-paced, high-pressure production environments,
able to balance real-time execution demands with long-term strategic priorities. - Enterprise Mindset: Ability to see beyond segment boundaries and connect PRG's sport's
business with the company's full portfolio of capabilities, clients and global resource to
unlock integrated opportunities. - Emotional Intelligence & Trust Building: High EQ with the ability to build trusted
relationships across clients, creative partners, and internal stakeholders while navigating
complexity and ambiguity. - Passion for the Industry: Genuine connection to sports and live entertainment,
production, and the people who power it, with an understanding of both its creative and
commercial dimensions.
