The impact you will have in this role:
Being a part of IT Middleware Digital Client Interfaces team, the Director Software Engineering role specializes in planning, documenting technical requirements, designing, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm. Works closely with architects, product managers, project management, and end-users in the development and enhancement of existing software systems and applications, proposing and recommending solutions that solve sophisticated business problems.
The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions. May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth domain expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the CDTS Platform Enhancements and Modernization development and testing team
  • Prioritize Continuous Improvement initiatives related to service delivery to mitigate risks
  • Partner with business users/IT senior leaders to ensure results are properly aligned with project roadmaps
  • Balance demand and resources for short- and long-term budget planning
  • Create an inclusive environment of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and teamwork
  • Create an inclusive environment across all aspects of the team
  • Recommend resolution of technical problems based on root cause analysis
  • Refine work estimates to ensure resource allocation is optimized
  • Responsible for the overall management of the team and specific business applications (including technical designs)
  • Provide leadership and handles all aspects of team management, including the development of employees
  • Understand complexity of regulatory environment and ensures compliance
  • Control success criteria from design through deployment for all non-functional requirements
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience

  • Experience with Agile methodology and implementation of standard processes across squads
  • Demonstrated ability to develop plans and roadmaps for large scale projects as well as manage and deliver multiple releases on schedule and within budget
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with business stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with proven experience in a Director level role
