Job description

The Director of Cloud & Enterprise Infrastructure is responsible for leading the strategy, architecture, delivery, and ongoing operations of the organization's cloud, infrastructure, network, data center, and end-user computing environments. This role provides strategic leadership for enterprise technology platforms while ensuring the security, scalability, reliability, and performance of critical business systems. The Director partners closely with business leaders, cybersecurity, applications, and technology teams to drive modernization initiatives, cloud adoption, infrastructure optimization, and operational excellence. The role leads a team of infrastructure professionals and manages relationships with technology vendors and managed service providers. This is an onsite position, based in Springfield, Missouri.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSStrategic Leadership

Develop and execute the enterprise infrastructure and cloud strategy aligned with organizational goals. Lead infrastructure modernization efforts, including cloud migration, automation, virtualization, and platform optimization initiatives. Establish infrastructure roadmaps, technology standards, and governance frameworks. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve operational effectiveness and business outcomes. Collaborate with executive leadership to support strategic business initiatives and digital transformation efforts.

Cloud & Infrastructure Management

Direct the design, implementation, and administration of enterprise infrastructure environments, including cloud platforms, networks, servers, storage, and identity systems. Oversee public, private, and hybrid cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). Ensure highly available, resilient, and scalable infrastructure services. Lead capacity planning, performance monitoring, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives. Drive infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code practices to improve operational efficiency.

Operations & Service Delivery

Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise technology infrastructure. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and operational metrics. Lead incident management, problem resolution, and root cause analysis efforts. Oversee infrastructure lifecycle management, including hardware, software, and cloud services. Promote ITIL-based service management best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

Partner with Information Security teams to ensure infrastructure environments meet security and compliance requirements. Implement and maintain security controls, vulnerability remediation processes, and access management standards. Support regulatory compliance audits and risk management programs. Lead infrastructure-related disaster recovery testing and business continuity planning.

Financial & Vendor Management

Develop and manage infrastructure operating and capital budgets. Monitor cloud consumption and optimize infrastructure costs. Negotiate and manage contracts with technology vendors, cloud providers, and managed service partners. Ensure vendor performance aligns with contractual obligations and business expectations.

Leadership & Talent Development

Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing infrastructure and cloud professionals. Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance management for team members. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Build organizational capabilities to support evolving technology needs.

ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNEDEXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise technology teams.
  • Experience developing and executing enterprise cloud and infrastructure strategies.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience managing enterprise networking, server infrastructure, storage systems, virtualization, and endpoint technologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale technology transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing technology budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Strong business acumen and executive communication skills.
  • Cloud certifications such as Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional certifications.
  • ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or related professional certifications.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture, infrastructure automation, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code tools.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated environments and compliance frameworks.

Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
