Job description

We're seeking a talented Software Development Director to help lead the evolution of a high-impact digital eCommerce platform and shape the future of how customers engage at scale. This role offers the opportunity to drive meaningful transformation-modernizing architectures, evolving engineering practices, and delivering capabilities that directly influence business growth and customer experience. You'll partner with a talented, collaborative team of engineers and leaders who value craftsmanship, accountability, and continuous improvement. If you're energized by building modern, resilient systems, leading through influence, and seeing your work make a real, measurable impact, this is a role where your leadership will truly matter.
This role is responsible for managing and mentoring development managers and teams, driving agile (SAFe/Scrum) practices, and partnering closely with Web Experience, Architecture, and QA leadership to optimize flow, quality, and delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong people and project management expertise, fosters a high-performing and collaborative culture through hiring, coaching, and training, and establishes best practices, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. This leader builds strong cross-functional relationships, maintains industry awareness, and makes thoughtful technology recommendations, while operating with integrity, sound judgment, and minimal supervision. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree (typically expected), 6+ years of management experience (including 4+ years leading managers or equivalent), and 5+ years of project management experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence outcomes, and deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Skill evaluation: Behavioral (80%).
Mouser is an e-commerce business with 60% of the company's revenue and 70%+ of orders being transacted on it's websites. Selling more than 8 Million products from 1200 suppliers, in two dozen languages, to hundreds of thousands of customers, in more than 100 countries, the Internet Business department is required to design, build and host our own systems as commercial platforms are inadequate. We have big challenges that directly affect the trajectory of our growing company. Be a part of a dynamic department, in a strong company, serving customers in a vital industry.
The Internet Business department includes teams devoted to Product Data, Website Experience, Site Development, Architecture & Platforms, Quality & Automation and Operations & Infrastructure.
