The Director, Social Media owns Hourglass' global organic social strategy, ensuring the brand continues to lead modern luxury beauty through best-in-class storytelling, content innovation, and community engagement. This role defines how the brand comes to life across owned channels while building scalable content and affiliate programs that strengthen brand desirability and drive business growth.
Acting as a key cross-functional leader, this individual partners closely with Creative to build premium, social-first content, shapes campaign development to ensure social needs are integrated from concept through execution, and owns the global affiliate marketing strategy. The role leads and develops the Social & Affiliate team while partnering with Brand Marketing, Influencer, PR, Creative, and Regional Marketing.
This role is ideal for a social media leader with sharp editorial judgment, a commercial mindset, and the taste to know that restraint drives desirability more than volume.
WHAT YOU DO:
  • Own the organic social strategy across all platforms
  • Define and continually evolve the Hourglass social identity to ensure the brand remains culturally relevant, modern, and aspirational
  • Develop channel strategies that strengthen brand awareness, engagement, and community growth
  • Partner closely with Creative to build scalable content creation models that deliver premium, social-first assets
  • Develop and own long-term social content strategy, partner with Social Art Director to brief and create content for owned social channels
  • Influence campaign development to ensure social needs are integrated from concept through execution
  • Lead editorial planning, publishing, community management, and channel optimization
  • Own the global affiliate marketing strategy and identify opportunities to expand creator commerce while protecting the luxury positioning of the brand
  • Identify emerging technologies, platforms, and content innovations that keep Hourglass at the forefront of luxury social marketing
  • Lead and develop the social & affiliate team while partnering closely with Regional Brand Marketing, Influencer, PR, Creative, and Global Marketing
  • Partner with regional teams to source additional content opportunities for use on owned social

  • Proven cross-functional partnership with Creative, PR, and Influencer teams

The expected base salary range for this position is $135,000-$145,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
