Position Details

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Froedtert Hospital Security/Safety Manager and Director in accordance with established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, this position is responsible for the daily coordination and leadership of staff to ensure that the FH Security and Safety Department functions are carried out in a manner that supports established customer service standards and expectations according to hospital and department guidelines, policies and procedures.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience or informal leadership experience in either a senior or lead role in healthcare security or law enforcement is required. In lieu of healthcare security or law enforcement experience, must have a minimum of 5 years of leadership with direct reports. Experience in day to day operation of large hospital security department is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Associate degree in Safety Management, Criminal Justice, Business or related field is required. In lieu of Associate degree, 5 years of equivalent level of experience in Safety and Security or 3 years formal leadership experience will be accepted. Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Criminal Justice Business or related field is preferred.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
Demonstrated competency and previous experience in training including principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training program effectiveness and outcomes. De-escalation, DAAT training, CPR, Hazwopper, restraint, hospital, military, or law enforcement is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Ability to effectively lead and coordinate daily work activities of staff providing direction and support of all functions. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff. Strong public speaking and presentation skills. Communication required may be verbal, in person, via phone or written depending on the situation. Ability to perform data entry functions on computer. Ability to perform basic arithmetic and read/comprehend reports with numeric information. Ability to capture data and create reports in excel. Ability to create and maintain a monthly staffing schedule that adheres to monthly budget and bring staff satisfaction to a Tier I level.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
ICS100, ICS200 or ICS700 certification is required within one year of hire or transfer into position. Must be able to obtain IAHS "Supervisor" Certification within 18 months of hire.
