Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU
Position Overview
As an RN in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you provide high-acuity, life-sustaining care for critically ill patients requiring rapid assessment, continuous monitoring, and advanced interventions.
You coordinate with intensivists, respiratory therapists, and the nursing team to deliver evidence-based critical care.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct continuous monitoring, titrate medications, and respond to decompensation.
  • Administer vasoactive infusions, analgesia, and sedatives per protocols.
  • Manage ventilator support and assist with invasive procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams on care plans and rounds.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the EHR.
  • Educate patients and families about prognosis, goals of care, and discharge planning.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred; ADN with critical care exposure acceptable.
Licensure:
Current, active RN license in the state of employment.
Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • CCRNs or Critical Care Certification preferred
Experience or Skills:
Strong critical care assessment, mechanical ventilation familiarity, and proficiency with EHR.
Experience
  • 2-4 years of ICU experience in a hospital setting.
  • Experience managing unstable patients and coordinating with ICU teams.
Preferred
  • BSN; CCRN or similar certification; familiarity with ECMO or advanced monitoring.
Work Environment
