Job description

Do you get excited when your software actually interacts with the physical world?
Are you ready to learn the new exciting world of smart robots?
Do you feel tired of working in a big company?
Would you like to cooperate with top professionals in our industry?

If your answers are mostly yes, then you should keep reading.

At Nomagic, we're on a mission to teach robots the real world. We're now looking for a Senior Commissioning Engineer, who takes ownership of on-site system commissioning, ramp-up, and stabilization across our customer deployments in live warehouse environments.

Offer Essentials
  • Play with robots every day
  • Salary: Competitive US market salary (based on experience) plus equity
  • Relocation package (travel expenses fully covered)
  • Truly flexible working hours
Here is why we love this job ourselves, and hope you will enjoy it too:
  • We build robots powered by AI
  • We have them in production at scale and see their real impact on critical operations.
  • We test our code in unit tests, simulations and on real robots!
  • We're still pretty small, so everyone has a direct impact on the final result
  • Our team has built Google Warsaw, unicorn startups (Climate Corp), tested rocket engines and worked at top companies such as Nvidia or ByteDance. Now we shape the future of smart robotics together!
  • We combine world-class research with top-notch engineering and apply it to solve real problems
Some of the problems you may try to solve with us:
  • Lead on-site commissioning of robotic picking systems at customer warehouses
  • Bring systems from mechanical completion through first picks, ramp-up, and production handover
  • Validate hardware, electrical, controls, and software integration on-site
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, controls, and software domains
  • Work closely with remote engineering teams to troubleshoot and deploy fixes
  • Execute test plans, acceptance criteria, and performance validation
  • Train customer operators and maintenance teams during handover
  • Document commissioning procedures, lessons learned, and site-specific configurations
  • Support continuous improvement by feeding field insights back into engineering and product teams
What skills we’d like you to have:
  • 5–10+ years of hands-on experience commissioning or deploying industrial automation or robotic systems
  • Strong practical experience with robotic cells, automation equipment, or warehouse systems
  • Comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, controls, and software interfaces
  • Experience with industrial robots (ABB strongly preferred; others welcome)
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and system layouts
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and calm execution in live production environments
  • Willingness and ability to travel ~75% of the time
  • Excellent communication skills in English (customer-facing role)
  • Self-driven, organized, and comfortable working independently in the field
Nice to have:
  • Experience with warehouse automation, intralogistics, or fulfillment environments
  • PLC or controls troubleshooting experience
  • Familiarity with safety systems (E-stops, scanners, light curtains)
  • Experience working in startup or fast-scaling engineering environments

What should you expect once you apply?
  • 30-minute recruiter screen
  • 60-minute technical prescreen
  • 45-minute hiring manager interview
  • Onsite or virtual interview loop (½ day total)
  • We make the final decision after max. 2–3 days after on-site interview.
  • Important: Feedback after completing the recruitment process.
