Job description

MissionHires is partnering with multiple manufacturing companies across the U.S. to hire experienced Maintenance & Reliability Managers for direct-hire roles. Responsibilities:
  • Lead the plant maintenance and reliability function to maximize equipment uptime, safety, and productivity.
  • Own and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs across critical production assets.
  • Manage and optimize the plant CMMS and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program, including work order flow, PM schedules, and maintenance KPIs.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a multi-skilled maintenance team (mechanical, electrical, controls/automation technicians).
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment and process failures; implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive reliability engineering practices using tools such as FMEA, TPM pillars, and condition-based monitoring where applicable.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Production, Operations, Quality, and EHS to ensure safe, efficient, and stable plant operations.
  • Support internal and external audits; ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Identify and lead maintenance- and reliability-focused continuous improvement projects (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, OEE improvement).
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts strategies, and vendor relationships to balance cost, reliability, and risk.
Requirements:
  • Proven leadership experience in manufacturing plant maintenance and reliability (e.g., Maintenance Manager, Maintenance & Reliability Manager, Plant Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Superintendent, or similar).
  • Handsโ€‘on experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, automation, and controls in a production setting (able to collaborate effectively with controls/automation technicians and engineers).
  • Experience using reliability tools such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, and TPM to reduce unplanned downtime and chronic issues.
  • Exposure to or formal training in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven track record of people leadership: building, coaching, and managing skilled maintenance teams in a plant environment.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Engineering, and EHS to align maintenance priorities with plant goals.
  • Ability to balance strategic reliability initiatives with handsโ€‘on, dayโ€‘toโ€‘day problem solving on the plant floor.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent combination of strong plant experience and leadership responsibility will be considered.
  • Willingness to relocate for the right opportunity; relocation assistance is available for select roles.
