Bloom Our Youth Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Georgias families and communities to transform the lives of children and youth impacted by foster care. Through foster care, prevention, and transitional programs, Bloom provides essential support that helps children and families thrive.


Serving more than 8,200 children and youth across the state of Georgia last year, Bloom brings its mission to life through initiatives such as Foster Care services, the Family Resource Center, Bloom University, Bloom Beyond, and the Bloom Closet.


We are a mission-driven, collaborative team committed to making a lasting impactand we seek team members who are passionate about serving children and families with excellence and compassion.


We are currently seeking a dedicated, experienced nonprofit professional to serve as a Program Coordinatorsomeone who is passionate, compassionate, and committed to improving the lives of children and families. This position reports to the Director of Operations and works alongside a passionate team committed to serving the Northwest Georgia community.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in nonprofit community outreach, development, fundraising, marketing, or a related field
  • Bachelors or Associate degree in Nonprofit Management, Human Services, or a related field preferred
  • Knowledge of foster care systems and services strongly preferred
  • Strong public speaking, presentation, and advocacy skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM systems
  • Valid Georgia Drivers License with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain on feet for extended periods


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Bloom Closet Program Coordinator oversees day-to-day operations of The Bloom Closet store in Rome, Georgia, while leading community outreach efforts in Rome and surrounding areas impacted by the program. This role ensures an inviting, well-organized store experience for at risk families and foster children, while also building strong community partnerships to expand awareness, donations, and volunteer engagement. This position combines operational leadership with external relationship-building to grow and sustain The Bloom Closets impact throughout the region.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Store & Program Operations

  • Oversees daily operations of The Bloom Closet in Rome, ensuring a welcoming, organized, and visually appealing environment
  • Provides hands-on support as needed to sort, clean, stock, rotate merchandise, and assist children and families
  • Ensures children receive individualized attention while shopping
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels of clothing, diapers, school supplies, toys, and toiletries
  • Maintains full knowledge and use of the POS Inventory Management System and communicates inventory shortages to leadership
  • Ensures staff and volunteers are trained in donation quality control procedures

Team & Volunteer Leadership

  • Leads and supports store staff and volunteers in executing daily operational plans
  • Communicates regularly with the Director of Operations to ensure consistency in policies, procedures, and organizational culture
  • Supports a culture of excellence, compassion, and accountability

Inventory, Reporting & Administration

  • Tracks inventory and supplies weekly and provides regular updates to the Director of Operations
  • Creates monthly productivity reports including donations received, client statistics, and PQI data for board reports, grants, and internal review
  • Works with the Director of Operations to order new inventory and submit receipts and expense reports in accordance with company policy
  • Ensures donor and partner information is accurately entered and maintained in the CRM database

Community Outreach & Growth

  • Serves as the primary ambassador for The Bloom Closet throughout Rome and surrounding areas
  • Builds and maintains relationships with a diverse network of supporters, including businesses, faith-based organizations, civic groups, schools, foundations, and individual donors
  • Coordinates in-kind collection drives to support program and organizational needs
  • Represents the organization through community speaking and outreach to increase awareness, giving, and volunteer engagement
  • Collaborates with the Marketing and Development teams to implement an annual outreach plan

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS: This position is a full-time, salary position (40 hours per week) with occasional evenings and some weekend hours.
