Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Program Management to join our Aerojet Rocketdyne segment in the Missile Propulsion sector, headquartered in Huntsville, AL. This leadership role is crucial for setting the strategic direction and managing the growth and P&L performance of a strategic program portfolio for solid rocket motors. The role involves influencing senior leadership on new concepts and practices, recommending and implementing strategies, and developing operational plans to achieve short-to-long-term business goals. Additionally, the Director will build and maintain strong relationships with customers, industry partners, and internal stakeholders. Advanced management and leadership skills, broad business knowledge, strong financial acumen, and extensive experience across related disciplines are required.

Essential Functions:

Accountable for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of the portfolio.

Plan the execution of the program and its activities in accordance with contractual requirements and company processes, policies, and systems. Develop metrics and monitor them to assess the strengths of the program and identify areas for improvement.

In conjunction with the functional leadership (Engineering, Operations, and Quality etc.), ensure that the program is adequately resourced with well-qualified staff.

Supervise program staff and provide direction, input and appropriate feedback.

Effectively communicate with customers and other stakeholders. Establish open communication to ensure effective and efficient program execution.

Prepare reports/briefings on the program for executive management. Ensure that the program operates within approved budgets and that any issues are surfaced in a timely manner. Identify and manage risks and opportunities associated with business unit programs. Monitor the program and conduct periodic evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement.

Lead program review sessions with customers and act as a primary interface to executive management for the execution of program requirements.

25% travel required.

Ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience; or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience; or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

A strong background in program financial management, and integrated master planning/scheduling.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present at all levels within the company as well as with external customers. Must have the ability to develop consensus and drive the organization to achieve program goals.

Demonstrated highly effective organization, team orientation and leadership skills.

Proven ability to recruit, train and motivate employees and build best in class teams.
