Job description

Director Product Management (AI and Automation)

Product Management at Capital One is a booming, vibrant craft that requires reimagining the status quo, finding value creation opportunities, driving innovative and sustainable customer experiences through technology. We believe our portfolio of businesses and investments in growth and transformation will result in a company with the scale, brand, capabilities, talent, and values to succeed as the digital revolution transforms our society and our industry.

About the Team
Our team serves as a horizontal strategic engine that drives large-scale Product change by merging and modernizing the Finance ecosystem through a product-led lens. We provide a number of Product functions and as part of this are a big part of transitioning Finance from legacy manual processes and experiences to automated, holistic solutions, built for scale and fiscal integrity.

By operating as an outcome-driven unit, we don't just deliver technology; we ensure every product delivery or conversion results in measurable operational leverage. Furthermore, we maintain a well-managed environment by owning the end-to-end testing and validation for Finance, acting as the final gatekeeper to ensure that all change remains robust, compliant, and audit-ready.

We are continuing to build out our capabilities and are focused now, more than ever on unleashing the power of a full suite of automation tools with the addition of significant investments in AI. With power comes responsibility and ensuring that we develop, launch and use AI in the right way is key to our overall success.

  • Operational Automation: Success in designing and shipping automated workflows (using LLMs, RPA, or APIs) that measurably reduced manual effort or system latency.

  • Technical Execution: Experience collaborating with Technology, Data and Business teams to manage the full model lifecycle, including defining training data, evaluating model performance, and handling technical trade-offs.

  • Responsible Innovation: A track record of partnering with risk and compliance functions to implement AI ethics and compliance guardrails, specifically regarding data privacy, bias mitigation, and transparency.

  • Data-Driven Iteration: Demonstrated use of specialized AI metrics (e.g., precision, recall, or automation touch-rates) to refine features and optimize the product roadmap post-launch.
