Job description

Job title: Product Marketing Manager

Reports to: Director, Product & Lifecycle Marketing

Department: Merchant Solutions

Location: Remote

Grade: 17

About Priority:

Priority is a leading financial technology company on a mission to deliver a personalized, easy-to-adopt financial toolset that accelerates cash flow and optimizes working capital for businesses. Our vision is to eliminate the barriers to unlocking revenue - empowering businesses to grow faster and operate smarter.

We achieve this through the Priority Commerce Engine, an innovative platform that combines payables, acquiring, and banking and treasury solutions. This unified approach allows businesses to streamline financial operations, reduce unnecessary costs, and uncover new revenue opportunities.

At Priority, we\'re driven by results. We expect our people to be known for results - bringing expertise, momentum, and relentless focus to every challenge, helping our clients and each other thrive.

About the Role:

The Product Marketing Manager is part of the Prioritys’ Commercialization team responsible for shaping how our SMB products are positioned, messaged, and brought to market. This role owns the development of product marketing strategy, segmentation, and lifecycle marketing programs that drive awareness, adoption, and growth across both ISO and Direct to Merchant channels. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of product marketing fundamentals, is comfortable translating product capabilities into compelling positioning, and knows how to use data to guide and validate marketing decisions.

This role will also explore and test new marketing channels, build out self-serve onboarding experiences, and partner closely with Corporate Marketing and Business Intelligence to monitor and improve the performance of product and lifecycle marketing initiatives. In addition to driving new strategies, this person will refine and mature existing segmentation and customer journey work using current and emerging marketing technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop mature segmentation and Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) across all SMB products, spanning both ISO and D2C go-to-market motions.

  • Develop and refine product positioning and messaging that clearly differentiates SMB products in the market and resonates with target segments.

  • Design and stand-up signal-based marketing journeys that respond to customer behavior and lifecycle stages.

  • Develop self-serve onboarding experiences (email-based) that reduce friction and accelerate time-to-value for new customers.

  • Explore, test, and evaluate new marketing channels to identify scalable opportunities for growth.

  • Partner with the Business Intelligence team to define success metrics and monitor the performance of product and lifecycle marketing initiatives, iterating based on data.

  • Collaborate with product, sales, corporate marketing and commercialization stakeholders to ensure positioning and messaging are aligned across all customer-facing materials and resonating with target audience segments.

  • Translate product roadmap and feature updates into go-to-market narratives and launch strategies.

  • Partner with content, design, Corporate Marketing, and campaign teams to ensure messaging is consistently applied across marketing assets, landing pages, and campaigns.

  • Conduct competitive and market analysis to inform positioning, messaging, and channel strategy.

  • Support product launch / GTM planning, ensuring GTM strategy, messaging, and success metrics are in place ahead of launch, sales teams are prepared to drive growth and that our products are adopted successfully.

  • Partner with Director of Lifecycle Optimization, Content Curator, Lifecycle Optimization lead, Product leads and Sales teams to continuously refine lifecycle marketing strategy based on customer segmentation, behavior data, and Business Intelligence insights.

What Success Looks Like:

Success in this role is measurable and visible in how clearly the market understands and adopts Priority\'s SMB products. The right candidate builds credibility quickly by grounding strategy in data, sharpens how the business talks about its products, and becomes the go-to voice for positioning, segmentation, and lifecycle strategy across the SMB portfolio.

  • Segmentation and ICPs are clearly defined, documented, and actively used by ISO and D2C teams to target and message the right customers.

  • Product positioning and messaging are sharp, differentiated, and consistently reflected across sales, marketing, and product touchpoints.

  • Signal-based marketing journeys are live and measurably improving engagement, conversion, or retention across the customer lifecycle.

  • Self-serve onboarding reduces time-to-value and support burden, with adoption metrics reflecting a smoother path from signup to active use.

  • New marketing channels are tested with clear hypotheses and success criteria, and learnings directly inform where the team invests going forward.

  • Product and lifecycle marketing performance is tracked in partnership with Business Intelligence, with regular reporting that connects marketing activity to growth outcomes.

  • Stakeholders across product, sales, and commercialization trust this role to own positioning and GTM strategy from concept through launch without heavy oversight.

  • Product adoption and growth metrics for SMB products show a clear, attributable lift tied to marketing strategy and execution.

  • This role is seen as a source of strategic and analytical rigor, bringing structure and evidence to marketing and commercialization decisions rather than relying on instinct alone.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor\'s degree, or equivalent work experience.

  • Three to five years of work experience in product marketing, lifecycle marketing, or a directly relevant field.

  • Demonstrated experience developing product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy.

  • Experience building or maturing customer segmentation and ICPs.

  • Comfort working with data and BI teams to define, monitor, and report on marketing performance metrics.

  • Understanding of lifecycle marketing and signal-based or behavior-triggered marketing journeys.

  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product, sales, and marketing teams.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Strong analytical, decision-making, planning, and program design skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of SMB customers and the unique dynamics of marketing to small and medium-sized businesses.

  • Experience in financial products, payments, or fintech.

  • Experience with both ISO (indirect/partner) and D2C go-to-market channels.

  • Experience designing or optimizing self-serve onboarding flows.

  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms and signal-based journey tools.

  • Experience launching new marketing channels from test to scale.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
