In this role, you will have the opportunity to create and drive the implementation of portfolio strategy to align with and support the relevant business strategies. Each day, you will drive the allocation of resources across the portfolio of product lines, in collaboration with other relevant functions and key stakeholders, to ensure that each portfolio has the capability to execute its own strategic plans.

You will also showcase your expertise by monitoring the offering portfolio to ensure that a healthy mix and vitality is maintained.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid (2 days in ABB Iberville (Montreal South-shore facility)

This role is contributing to the Commercial ELIP portfolio in Canada. Main stakeholders are Engineering, Sales, Marketing and Operation.

Your Role: Own the Challenge

  • Defining the go-to-market model, aligning it with the sales, marketing and operational/execution path.
  • Contributing to the definition of the business strategy and translating it into the offering and portfolio strategy.
  • Overseeing portfolio strategy definition to optimize the time to market, sales enablement, and product profitability.
  • Leading the Product Management organization by providing necessary infrastructure for the optimal execution of core tasks like business and performances tracking, market intelligence, roadmap planning, lifecycle management, among others.

What it takes to run what runs the world

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading teams of at least 5 direct reports
  • You are immersed in and highly skilled in product strategy, portfolio management, go-to-market execution, pricing strategy, and full product lifecycle management.
  • You have proven experience working with complex product portfolios and collaborating closely with R&D, Sales, Operations, and Finance.
  • You possess advanced skills in business planning, financial acumen (P&L ownership, margin management and price positioning), and VOC-driven strategy development.
  • You are highly adept in developing and executing 3- to 5-year product and business strategies, translating division strategy into actionable local product plans and growth initiatives.
  • You enjoy working with digital tools, analytics, and commercial platforms, and can
    demonstrate the value of digital, including building strategies to accelerate data-driven
    decision-making.
  • You are passionate about and innovative around people leadership, coaching, and talent
    development, with the ability to mobilize, inspire, and develop teams to deliver strong
    commercial and P&L results.
  • You bring strong change-management capabilities, with a collaborative, solution-focused mindset and the ability to lead organizations through transformation and growth.
  • You hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field; an MBA is considered a strong asset.
  • Understanding of the Canadian electrical distribution is a strong asset.
  • You are at ease communicating fluently in English and French, both written and verbal, and are comfortable representing the organization with customers, partners, and senior
    stakeholders.
  • French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrate a high level of curiosity to identify and create new business opportunities in untapped areas.
  • Keen business sense and product management experience to drive lifecycle management of complex products and solutions from concept through retirement with clear focus on strategic and operational goals and objectives.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
