Job Title

Production Lead / Production Manager Polyurethane Manufacturing

Company Overview

We are a growing polyurethane manufacturing company based in Montral, specializing in custom-molded components, wear parts, and industrial products for sectors such as mining, aggregates, and heavy industry.
Our small, agile team focuses on quality, reliability, and fast turnaround for our customers across Qubec and Eastern Canada.

Position Overview

The Production Lead / Production Manager is responsible for day-to-day production on the shop floor while coordinating people, planning, and processes.
Approximately 65% of the role is hands-on production work and 35% is office/management (planning, organizing, supervision, communication).

You will work directly with the owner and the production team to ensure orders are produced safely, on time, and to specification, while helping to improve methods and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Shop-floor and hands-on (65%)

  • Participate directly in daily production: molding, casting, demolding, finishing, machine and equipment operation in polyurethane manufacturing.
  • Set up molds, prepare materials, monitor curing, and ensure products meet quality standards and customer specs.
  • Assist with loading/unloading, shipping/receiving, and organizing material and finished goods in the shop.
  • Help maintain equipment, tools, and a clean, safe, organized work environment.

Management and coordination (35%)

  • Plan daily and weekly production schedules based on orders and priorities, in collaboration with the owner.
  • Assign tasks to production employees, monitor progress, and adjust as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor production efficiency, scrap, rework, and downtime, and propose concrete improvements to methods and processes.
  • Ensure respect of safety rules, quality procedures, and company policies at all times.
  • Support training and integration of new employees on processes, equipment, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the office for production reporting, inventory tracking, and reception/expedition coordination.
Required Profile
  • Experience in a similar role in manufacturing (team lead, supervisor, production manager, or senior operator).
  • Hands-on experience on the shop floor (manufacturing, machining, molding, plastics, rubber, or polyurethane is an asset).
  • Strong sense of organization and priority management in a small team environment.
  • Ability to lead by example, communicate clearly, and maintain a positive, respectful work climate.
  • Comfortable balancing physical work and office tasks (planning, paperwork, coordination).
  • Basic computer skills (email, Excel, simple production tracking).
  • French required; basic English an asset for suppliers and some documentation.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly wage: 3040 $/hour, depending on experience and skills (in line with production management roles in Montral).
  • Daily punctuality bonus: 10 $ per day for being on time and respecting the work schedule.
  • Yearly performance bonus based on company results and individual contribution.
  • Group pension plan after the probationary period (per your policy; currently offered after 3 months).
  • Basic insurance plan after the waiting period (per your policy; currently after 12 months).
  • Full-time, permanent position with opportunities to grow into a more senior production/operations management role as the company expands.
Work Schedule and Environment
  • Full-time, daytime schedule (weekdays), with occasional overtime depending on workload.
  • Mix of shop-floor and office work in a small team of about 5 employees, where your decisions have a direct impact on daily operations and customer satisfaction.
