Job description

Purpose 


The Superintendent is responsible for providing planning, supervision and documentation for commercial
building ground up construction and renovation. The Superintendent provides the necessary managerial
support and leadership to ensure safety and operational success. The Superintendent is responsible for
the safety of his/her Foremen and crews. This role is based in Indianapolis, IN.  LPX Group headquarters is in Louisville, KY. 


Job Responsibilities 

  • Provide on-site leadership for safety, scheduling, workforce planning, coordination, cost control, and
    adherence to company policies.
  • Direct day-to-day operations of field teams and subcontractors, ensuring quality standards and timely
    execution.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to plan, sequence, and monitor construction and procurement
    activities.
  • Review construction documents, drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submittals for accuracy
    and compliance.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, approve field expenditures, and assist with change orders.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation and promote clear, timely communication with all
    stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and proactively identify training and safety needs.
  • Evaluate crew performance, provide mentorship to foreman, and resolve on-site challenges
    effectively.


Education and Experience 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial building projects.
  • Heavy Civil and Commercial Building trades experience required.
  • 7+ years of hands-on field experience in commercial construction, preferably with a carpentry and
    foreman background.
  • Strong ability to interpret construction documents, drawings, and schedules.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Procore or Vista is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills.
