Job description

Position Overview-Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to provide day-to-day oversight on a high-priority construction site for a mission-critical facility located in Northern Indiana. This role demands full-time, in-person leadership and coordination of subcontractors, schedule tracking, safety enforcement, and collaboration with site management to keep the project on track.
The successful candidate will have a solid background in field operations, a clear understanding of construction workflows, and a proactive approach to supervising multi-trade crews in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Duties-Superintendent
On-Site Leadership
  • Direct and supervise daily site activities, ensuring adherence to design documents and timelines.
  • Manage site logistics including material deliveries, access routes, and trade coordination.
  • Lead daily briefings with trade foremen to communicate goals and expectations.

Trade Coordination
  • Serve as the key site contact for primary subcontractors across structural, civil, envelope, and MEP disciplines.
  • Address site issues swiftly, resolve trade interference, and escalate critical concerns.
  • Track manpower deployment and productivity for assigned scopes.

Scheduling & Workflow Management
  • Support development of weekly and long-range schedules.
  • Monitor completed tasks, adjust work plans based on site conditions, and coordinate recovery strategies for delays.
  • Coordinate inspections and closeout milestones with QA/QC teams.

Safety & Compliance
  • Uphold strict safety standards, ensuring all work meets regulatory and site-specific requirements.
  • Conduct site safety inspections, lead toolbox talks, and report incidents as needed.
  • Oversee implementation of quality control procedures and assist with turnover documentation.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Submit daily reports detailing site progress, trade activities, and material status.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs via construction management platforms (e.g., Procore).
  • Ensure consistent communication with site leadership and stakeholders.

Required Experience & Skills
  • At least 5 years in the construction field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors on large commercial or industrial builds.
  • Familiarity with MEP systems, structural components, and general trades.
  • Capable of reading construction plans and technical documents.
  • Comfortable using project management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to thrive in a high-demand site environment.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience working on data centers or other mission-critical infrastructure preferred.
  • High school diploma required; trade school or construction-related degree preferred.
  • Exposure to lean practices, integrated project delivery, or multi-trade coordination.
