About the Role
BLEACHTECH is seeking a Process Engineer to support process optimization, plant improvement projects, and daily production monitoring at our Petersburg, Virginia manufacturing facility.
Reporting to the COO, this role will use process data, engineering principles, and hands-on troubleshooting to improve plant efficiency, reliability, productivity, and overall performance.
What You'll Do
  • Monitor and analyze plant production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support process improvement and plant reliability projects through field data collection, technical analysis, reporting, and equipment trials.
  • Develop and maintain heat and material balances to identify and correct process and equipment deviations.
  • Troubleshoot plant and equipment issues in partnership with Operations and Maintenance.
  • Develop, review, and update SOPs, SOCLs, process documentation, and engineering drawings.
  • Analyze process performance metrics and prepare monthly reports to support operational decision-making.
  • Initiate and support Management of Change (MOC) activities for process and equipment modifications.
  • Support production order creation and data entry in the ERP system.
  • Monitor raw material usage and work with Warehouse/Stores to support inventory accuracy and appropriate stock levels.
  • Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support plant and departmental goals.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • 3+ years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience with process design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience analyzing production/process data and preparing technical reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Experience with process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS or ChemCAD is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma/statistical analysis methodologies is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, HSSE, and other cross-functional teams.
