Job description

Dept: PLAYER DEVELOPMENT Job Title: CASINO HOST

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for developing an environment creating excitement for internal and external guests, promoting and coordinating programs, activities and special events to attract mid-=-level and high limit guests. Develop and establish relationships with guests to encourage property loyalty, repeat visits and guest satisfaction. Establish and expand player database by creating special guest functions, services and activities. Communicates and develops close relationships with all departmental managers acting as a liaison between the guest and the casino.

  1. Responsible for managing a player list to ensure guest satisfaction using both verbal and written communication. Circulates casino floor meeting new guests and greeting familiar guests by name.
  2. Maintain a thorough knowledge of all property and community activities, promotions and special events. Actively assists in promoting all events, activities and promotions to both internal and external guests.
  3. Responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for internal and external guests, focusing on Acquisition, Retention, Growth and Reactivation.
  4. Responsible for developing, coordinating and promoting programs to attract high-limit players and host such guests to ensure guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  5. Adheres to all departmental and company policies and procedures including, but not limited to, attendance, comps, hotel reservations, events, transportation, phone and email.
  6. Understands and assists in monitoring department objectives, standards, guidelines, and budget to maximize profits.
  7. Maintain an active role in on-property and off-property Player Development. Communicates with all guest service departments to develop and implement strategies and programs to increase the market for new and existing high-limit guests.
  8. Assist both table and slot personnel in player identification.
  9. Accurately prepares all daily/weekly departmental paperwork and is responsible to ensure all contact with internal and external guests is professional, correct and represents the casino with the highest integrity.
  10. Provides quality players with hospitality arrangements and complimentaries, including food, lodging, retail, transportation and off property events or benefits.
  11. Projects a positive customer service image at all times.
  12. Adheres to strong confidentiality standards for both internal and external guests.
  13. Responsible for resolving problems in a professional manner.
  14. Ability to receive and properly handle customer comments and complaints; demonstrating appropriate dispute resolution skills.
  15. Responsible for performing other duties as assigned

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Mississippi Gaming License REQUIRED.

EDUCATION OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Associates degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Must have a minimum of 6 months of experience in Player Development hosting or comparable position.
  3. Must be proficient in Patron Management Systems, Hotel Management Systems, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  4. Must be customer service oriented with strong written, verbal communication and organizational skills.
  5. Must work well with diverse groups of people.
  6. Must have knowledge of slot and table operations, casino policies and procedures, casino floor layout and all events and promotions.
  7. Professional appearance and demeanor required.
  8. Able to work independently with limited supervision and still meet deadlines.
  9. Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work long hours, nights and weekends.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

The following activities are normally required to perform the functions: stand, walk, sit, read, verbal and written communication, math and organizational skills, flexible work schedule, unlimited travel including driving and adapting to different climates and time zones. Must also be able to work in areas that contain second hand smoke.
