Job description

Director-level opportunity leading a small, high-impact R&D team within a well-established consumer products manufacturer. This role owns new product development from concept through production, with a strong emphasis on electromechanical systems and connected product integration.

The position oversees a team across mechanical, electrical/controls, and motor design, driving innovation, product strategy, and execution across multiple product lines.


QualificationsKey Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of 7-10 engineers across mechanical, controls, and motor disciplines
  • Own full lifecycle product development (concept through commercialization)
  • Drive innovation in electromechanical product design and performance
  • Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and product teams to ensure successful launches
  • Establish and improve R&D processes, prioritization, and execution discipline
  • Align engineering efforts with business goals, cost targets, and timelines
Qualifications
  • 10-15+ years in product development / R&D within consumer or industrial products
  • Prior leadership experience managing engineering teams
  • Strong background in electromechanical systems (motors, controls, hardware)
  • Experience leading new product development initiatives
  • Exposure to connected products / IoT-enabled devices IS A MUST.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
