Position Overview:

Director, Software Engineering, is accountable for driving endtoend solution delivery across one of FIS's fastestgrowing product lines. This role ensures technical execution excellence, product scalability, and operational resilience while partnering closely with Product, Architecture, SRE, Security, and Business stakeholders. The leader will oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams and serve as a key driver of innovation, delivery predictability, and client satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Technology Delivery & Execution

  • Own the full engineering lifecycle-from design to deployment-for assigned solutions.
  • Lead development roadmaps ensuring highquality, timely, and costeffective delivery.
  • Partner with Product and Architecture to translate business objectives into executable technical solutions.
  • Enforce engineering best practices, modern DevOps, CI/CD, cloudfirst, and automation standards.

2. People Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop highperforming engineering teams
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support staffing, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and succession planning.

3. Stakeholder Partnership & Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of technical leadership across Product, SRE, Operations, and Security.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and strategy effectively to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate crossteam collaborations for major releases, client escalations, and platform upgrades.

4. Engineering Governance & Quality

  • Drive compliance with the Change Gate process, ensuring vulnerabilities, EOL components, and remediation plans are properly executed with SRE and Security teams.
  • Ensure solution releases meet all risk, compliance, and architectural standards.
  • Lead efforts to improve system reliability, monitoring, and incident reduction.

5. Strategic Influence & Product Growth

  • Shape longterm technology strategy for a product line experiencing significant client and revenue growth (e.g., 13%+ growth and large incoming pipeline).
  • Introduce technical innovations that improve scalability, performance, and client experience.
  • Partner with business leaders to align investments, capacity, and priorities.


Required Skills

  • 10+ years of software engineering leadership within largescale, missioncritical products.
  • Deep experience in cloud engineering, microservices, DevOps, and modern architecture.
  • Proven ability to lead distributed engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of secure SDLC, resiliency, and production operations.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience leading technology transformation initiatives in financial services or similarly regulated environments.
  • Prior exposure to product lines with high client growth and scale requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with SRE, Architecture, and Security organizations.
