Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Director, Physical Therapist to lead and grow our thriving outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinic. This role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care, developing a high-performing team, and driving continued clinic growth. The Clinical Director will provide hands-on treatment for a variety of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions while also overseeing daily clinic operations, team leadership and culture, clinical quality, and patient experience.
Clinical Care
  • Evaluate and treat patients with a wide range of orthopedic, sports-related, post-surgical, work-related, and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans focused on restoring function, reducing pain, improving mobility, and helping patients return to work, sport, and daily activities.
  • Provide skilled interventions including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, functional training, patient education, and other appropriate treatment techniques.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust plans of care to support optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.

Leadership and Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, technicians, and administrative staff.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and patient-centered clinic culture built on accountability, collaboration, and clinical excellence.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to help team members grow professionally.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and retaining high-quality clinical and support staff.
  • Promote strong communication across the team to ensure efficient clinic flow and consistent patient experience.

Clinic Operations and Growth
  • Oversee day-to-day clinic operations, including scheduling efficiency, patient flow, staffing needs, and overall clinic performance.
  • Help grow the clinic through relationship-building with physicians, referral sources, community partners, employers, and patients.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as patient volume, plan-of-care completion, visit utilization, cancellations, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with leadership to set clinic goals, implement growth strategies, and identify opportunities for service expansion.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, payer requirements, state practice regulations, and documentation standards.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program
  • Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of practice.
  • Clinical experience treating orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions in an outpatient setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to excellent patient care, measurable outcomes, ethical practice, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to motivate a team, manage priorities, and contribute to clinic growth.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior clinic management, clinical director, or team leadership experience.
  • Strong background in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, post-operative rehabilitation, manual therapy, or performance-based rehabilitation.
  • Experience with physician relations, community outreach, and referral development.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, insurance requirements, productivity standards, and clinic performance metrics.
  • Advanced certifications such as OCS, SCS, CSCS, manual therapy certification, or dry needling certification are a plus, but not required for application.
