Job description

The Role

As Senior Director, Operations you will own and scale one of CookUnity's most critical markets - responsible for building a best-in-class operation that sets the standard for the company.

This role goes beyond managing operations - you will design, optimize, and evolve a multi-facility system that delivers exceptional quality, speed, and reliability at scale.

You'll operate at both a strategic and executional level: shaping the long-term operating model while staying close enough to the floor to identify issues, remove bottlenecks, and drive results in real time.

What You'll Own
  • End-to-end ownership of LA market performance, including P&L, operational KPIs, and customer experience
  • A complex, multi-site operation spanning production, fulfillment, logistics, warehouse, and facilities
  • Building and developing a high-performing leadership team that can scale with the business
  • Designing and implementing systems, processes, and tools that enable efficiency, consistency, and growth
  • Driving a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across the market
  • Ensuring the operation is not just running well today, but built to scale for tomorrow
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a large, multi-functional operations organization, creating a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Own and drive P&L performance, identifying opportunities to improve margins, reduce waste, and optimize labor and cost structures
  • Design and implement scalable systems and processes to support growth across multiple facilities
  • Use data, dashboards, and real-time metrics to manage performance across throughput, quality, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery
  • Identify bottlenecks and drive end-to-end process improvements across production and fulfillment workflows
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain to execute strategic initiatives
  • Leverage automation, technology, and AI-driven tools to improve forecasting, planning, and operational decision-making
  • Ensure best-in-class food safety, compliance, and quality standards across all facilities
  • Act as the senior operational leader for the market - setting the tone, pace, and standards for execution
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience leading large-scale operations in food manufacturing, fulfillment, logistics, or similarly complex production environments, with proven ownership of P&L and multi-site performance
  • Strong track record of building and developing high-performing teams, including frontline and senior leaders, within fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Deep understanding of operational KPIs (throughput, labor efficiency, quality, cost) with the ability to use data, technology, and AI-driven tools to drive decisions and continuous improvement
  • Highly analytical and execution-oriented, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on problem solving in dynamic, ambiguous environments
  • Strong leadership presence and communication skills, with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and a focus on building scalable, efficient systems
  • Experience driving operational excellence through process standardization, automation, and a continuous improvement mindset; Spanish proficiency is a plus
