Overview

This position is responsible for implementing strategies for the clinical care of patients within the designated clinical and/or operational support departments. This position provides leadership, direction, and support for clinical leaders in pursuit to achieve quality outcomes, reduce costs, and share and interpret the standards required to ensure high degree of patient, physician, and employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees the day-to-day activities of the clinics through the clinic leadership at each site, ensuring a high level of productivity. Monitors clinic's performance and revises operations as needed. Sets clear expectations and holds team members accountable for producing desired outcomes. Motivates and develops team members and promotes teamwork.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of systems to ensure that established policies, goals, and objectives are achieved and in compliance with practice, facility, and system policies and procedures, standard practices of the profession, and related local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Identifies process improvements opportunities focused on innovative care delivery and/or operational models designed to improve clinical services, outcomes, patient throughput, and patient safety. Promotes the use and implementation of technology in the workplace in order to streamline operations, facilitates communications, and optimizes work processes. Ensures and fosters a high level of collaboration in order to coordinate activities, review work, exchange information, and resolve problems within a team environment. Champions, models, and promotes service excellence philosophies and behaviors at the facility and system levels to enhance the overall patient experience.
  • Facilitates the assimilation of newly hired or affiliated providers into the group practice setting and works closely with the affiliating group's physician and administrative leadership. This includes but is not limited to credentialing, orientation/training, practice setup, and post-integration follow-up. Works collaboratively with leaders to help assimilate affiliating practice into market and/or current clinic operations. Establishes and maintains effective communications and working relationships with physicians and physician leadership. Responds to provider concerns and provides problem resolution as appropriate.
  • Promotes financial stewardship and clinical excellence for the facility/campus in both operational and capital acquisition processes. Allocates financial, information, and human capital for improvement activities, ensuring the efficient delivery of cost effective services to patients, physicians, and clinic departments. Establishes performance measures, assesses and evaluates operations, and works with department management to assure efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Participates in the development of a marketing plan in conjunction with system leadership team. Ensures the efficient implementation and evaluation of the marketing plan as needed.
  • Provides effective leadership for development of a cohesive team. Selects, trains, coaches, motivates, conducts performance evaluations, and directs the workflow of staff. Develops goals and performance expectations of staff.
Qualifications
  • Must possess knowledge of health care administration, business administration or other related field as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in business or health care.
  • Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of medical practice and clinic management, clinic operational structures and systems, and policies, procedures, and processes as normally demonstrated through five (5) years progressively responsible experience in managing a health care facility
  • Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels and demonstrate leadership ability and group facilitation skills. Requires the ability to develop strong relationships. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Requires comprehensive knowledge of laws, procedures, standards, and practices. Must have the ability to successfully and positively interact with physicians and employees at all levels throughout the organization and the public.
  • Must have strong computer skills with working knowledge of computer applications in a medical practice setting.
