Job description

Title: Director of Ticket Sales
Company: Peak Sports MGMT
Location: Campbell Athletics | Buies Creek, North Carolina
About Us
Peak Sports MGMT is a third-party multimedia rights and revenue partner for college athletic departments across the country. Through Peak Pinnacle, our ticket sales and service division, we help athletic departments build stronger outbound sales operations, increase attendance, improve the customer experience, and generate sustainable ticket revenue. In partnership with Campbell Athletics, our team is responsible for developing and executing ticket sales strategies across season tickets, group sales, premium opportunities, renewals, and other revenue-producing initiatives. We are building a high-performance revenue organization inside college athletics. That requires accountability, disciplined outreach, accurate reporting, consistent execution, and a clear focus on measurable ticket revenue growth.
Position Overview
The Director of Ticket Sales will lead the ticket sales strategy and day-to-day ticket revenue operation for Campbell Athletics. This position is responsible for generating new ticket revenue, strengthening renewal performance, developing group sales opportunities, managing customer relationships, and creating a disciplined outbound sales process.
This is not a passive ticket operations or customer service position. It is a revenue leadership role for someone who can build a pipeline, execute sales campaigns, create demand, and consistently move prospects through the sales process.
The Director will manage the full ticket sales lifecycle, including prospecting, lead generation, sales campaigns, renewals, reporting, forecasting, and customer retention. The position will also work closely with the Manager of Sales and Service, Campbell Athletics staff, and Peak Sports MGMT leadership to ensure ticket sales efforts are organized, coordinated, and executed effectively.
Success will be measured by ticket revenue growth, outbound activity, conversion performance, renewal rates, group sales production, pipeline development, attendance growth, and overall sales execution.
What You'll Own
  • Lead the ticket sales strategy for Campbell Athletics across season tickets, group sales, renewals, premium opportunities, mini-plans, and individual-game initiatives.
  • Generate new ticket revenue through consistent outbound calling, emailing, prospecting, networking, and relationship development.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of individuals, businesses, community organizations, youth groups, schools, alumni, and other potential buyers.
  • Develop and execute targeted sales campaigns designed to increase ticket revenue and attendance.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach and discovery through proposal, follow-up, closing, and renewal.
  • Create group sales strategies for businesses, nonprofit organizations, schools, youth sports programs, community groups, and other local organizations
  • Develop renewal and retention plans that strengthen relationships with existing season-ticket holders and group buyers.
  • Identify opportunities to increase account value through upgrades, additional inventory, hospitality, and expanded ticket packages.
  • Maintain consistent outbound activity and establish clear standards for prospecting, follow-up, and pipeline management.
  • Track all sales activity, customer communication, opportunities, and results accurately within CRM and ticketing systems.
  • Build and maintain accurate ticket sales forecasts, revenue reports, campaign reports, and performance dashboards.
  • Analyze ticket sales trends, buyer behavior, attendance patterns, and campaign performance to improve future strategy.
  • Work closely with the Manager of Sales and Service to coordinate lead management, customer communication, reporting, campaign execution, and game-day responsibilities.
  • Provide direction, accountability, and professional development to ticket sales support staff.
  • Collaborate with Campbell Athletics marketing, communications, operations, development, and external relations teams to align sales efforts with departmental priorities.
  • Coordinate with Peak Sports MGMT leadership on revenue goals, sales strategy, forecasting, staffing, and performance expectations.
  • Develop professional ticket proposals, group sales materials, scripts, email campaigns, and other sales resources.
  • Support the planning and execution of ticket-holder events, group experiences, hospitality opportunities, and retention initiatives.
  • Assist with game-day ticket sales, customer service, issue resolution, and revenue-producing activities.
  • Identify barriers to purchase and recommend changes to pricing, packaging, messaging, inventory, or sales processes.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism, urgency, organization, and follow-through.

Who This Role Fits
This position is designed for someone who:
  • Is motivated by sales, competition, accountability, and measurable results.
  • Wants ownership over a ticket revenue goal, sales strategy, and customer pipeline.
  • Is comfortable creating demand through outbound activity rather than relying on inbound interest.
  • Can build a structured sales process and maintain consistent activity over time.
  • Understands how to sell through relationships, urgency, value, and customer needs.
  • Is confident leading conversations, overcoming objections, and asking for the sale.
  • Can manage both short-term revenue goals and long-term customer relationships.
  • Uses data, reporting, and activity metrics to evaluate performance and adjust strategy.
  • Can lead and develop support staff while remaining personally active in the sales process.
  • Is willing to take responsibility for results and make changes when performance is below expectations.
  • Wants a visible revenue role with the opportunity to directly affect attendance and ticket sales growth.

This role is a strong fit for candidates coming from ticket sales, B2B sales, group sales, inside sales, business development, hospitality sales, membership sales, or other revenue-focused environments where success depends on prospecting, relationship building, and closing business.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, sports management, communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in ticket sales, B2B sales, group sales, business development, or another revenue-generating role.
  • Proven ability to prospect, build a pipeline, overcome objections, and close business.
  • Experience developing and executing outbound sales campaigns.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide direction, accountability, and development to staff.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong customer-service skills and the ability to build long-term relationships with ticket buyers.
  • Ability to create and execute ticket sales plans aligned with revenue goals and attendance objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, accounts, events, and deadlines.
  • Experience using CRM systems, ticketing platforms, spreadsheets, reporting tools, and sales activity metrics.
  • Ability to analyze performance data and make informed adjustments to sales strategy.
  • Competitive mindset with a strong sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Campbell Athletics and Peak Sports MGMT leadership.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and event days as required within a college athletics environment.

A background in sports is preferred but not required. A demonstrated ability to prospect, lead a sales process, develop people, and produce revenue is more important.
What Success Looks Like
  • Consistent outbound activity and new pipeline development.
  • Growth in season-ticket, group, premium, and other ticket revenue.
  • Strong execution against individual and departmental revenue goals.
  • Improved season-ticket renewal and customer retention performance.
  • Increased group sales activity throughout the local and regional market.
  • Accurate forecasting, reporting, CRM management, and sales tracking.
  • Effective sales campaigns with measurable conversion and revenue results.
  • Strong leadership and development of ticket sales support staff.
  • Improved coordination between ticket sales, marketing, operations, and customer service.
  • High-quality communication and follow-up with prospects and existing ticket holders.
  • A high standard of professionalism, responsiveness, ownership, and accountability.
