Our Opportunity:
Chewy is hiring a Software Development Manager to lead one of our WMS fulfillment execution system teams, which is responsible for features and services that support customer transaction flow within the Chewy's e-commerce ecosystem. You will help to mature and extend our existing systems, while at the same time introducing systems that will enable Chewy to scale into the future. This entails innovating processes, reporting, and aligning development strategies to support Chewy's explosive growth. As part of a dynamic team, this role offers a tremendous opportunity for professional growth in the leading online pet retailer in the US.
What you'll do:
  • Manage/Lead a team of software engineers in the development, testing and deployment of our platform, facilitate agile process and remove impediments
  • Partner with our recruiting team to continue to build your team and mentor the growth of the existing team
  • Drive technical decisions and work with your partner TPM to plan, track, and deliver software projects
  • Establish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and cross-functional teams
  • You'll review architecture, design, and implementations, and you'll provide feedback to individual contributors
  • You'll be able to identify and manage priorities within the context of overall corporate objectives
  • Work with others in Engineering Management to drive best practices in software development, testing, and production deployment

What you'll need:
  • Demonstrated history of implementing and managing significant software development projects
  • 7+ years of experience in Software Development as a software engineer
  • 2+ years of experience in Engineering Management
  • Fluency in SQL development and 1 or more programming languages
  • Proven delivery experience working under an Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Proven experience in delivery end to end scalable solutions
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Position may include occasional travel

Bonus:
  • Experience in e-commerce software systems
  • Experience in WMS technology
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with HighJump Software/Koerber Supply Chain Software

The base salary range for this role is $145,000 - $225,000.00.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
