Brandon Wilde is looking for an experienced DON that brings compassion, professionalism, and strong skills to work every day. The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the twenty-four-hour nursing care of all residents through the performance of the nursing personnel.  This position is responsible for providing a "system of care" for residents in a manner and environment that promotes maintenance or enhancement of each resident's quality of life and provides dignity and respect in full recognition of each resident's individuality.  

 The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall supervision, provision, and quality of nursing care in the Health Center (SNF, Personal Care and Memory Care) and residential apartments. This role is responsible for the selection, training, discipline and supervision for all nursing related Health Center personnel. DON is responsible for the procurement of appropriate supplies and equipment and operating within the departmental budget.
 
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities: 
  • Lead and oversee all nursing operations for the Health Center and residential apartments.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with federal, state, local, and LCS standards.
  • Direct staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning to ensure appropriate 24-hour nursing coverage.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, evaluate, and develop nursing team members.
  • Oversee employee orientation, annual performance evaluations, and ongoing education programs.
  • Coordinate resident care with physicians, therapists, hospice, home health, private duty providers, and other healthcare partners.
  • Supervise resident assessments, care planning, restorative nursing programs, admissions, and clinical outcomes.
  • Oversee Medicare documentation, MDS completion, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Maintain nursing licensure compliance and ensure adherence to corporate policies, HIPAA, and quality standards.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams through visible, hands-on leadership.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and exceptional resident care.
  • Serve as the clinical leader for the community and act on behalf of the Administrator when needed.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have: 
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. GA RN License
  • Two years experience in geriatric nursing and/or B.S. Degree in nursing. Participation in professional organizations, dealing primarily in geriatrics preferred. Minimum of two years nursing administration experience, preferably in a long term care setting. NADONA certification a plus.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
