Job description

Position Summary

The Director of Program Development is responsible for expanding and enhancing Commonpoint's tennis programming across multiple facilities. This role focuses on creating, implementing, and evaluating new programs that increase participation, improve the customer experience, and generate sustainable revenue. Working closely with the Senior Director of Operations, Director of Tennis, and site leadership, this position will lead program development efforts at satellite locationsโ€”including Bay Terrace and Tannenbaum Family Poolโ€”while also identifying new opportunities to strengthen programming at Alley Pond Tennis Center and future Commonpoint facilities. This role is ideal for an innovative leader who enjoys building programs from the ground up, identifying community needs, and turning ideas into successful offerings.

Essential ResponsibilitiesProgram Development
  • Design and launch new tennis and recreation programs at Bay Terrace, Tannenbaum Family Pool, and future Commonpoint locations.
  • Evaluate current programming and recommend enhancements to improve participation, retention, and financial performance.
  • Develop seasonal program offerings for juniors, adults, camps, clinics, leagues, and special events.
  • Create standardized program models that can be replicated across multiple facilities.
Business Growth
  • Identify opportunities to expand programming into new communities, facilities, and partnerships.
  • Research market trends and customer demand to recommend new initiatives.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of new facility launches and program expansions.
  • Explore new revenue-generating opportunities while supporting Commonpoint's mission.
Alley Pond Program Support
  • Collaborate with the Alley Pond leadership team to develop new programs and improve existing offerings.
  • Assist in launching pilot programs and evaluating their success.
  • Recommend scheduling improvements and programming innovations based on participation data.
Collaboration & Operations
  • Work closely with Directors, Tennis Professionals, and Operations staff to ensure successful implementation of new programs.
  • Develop program guidelines, schedules, marketing information, and operational procedures.
  • Assist with staff training and onboarding related to new programs.
  • Support cross-site consistency in program quality and customer experience.
  • Oversee and execute the registration process of new programs.
Performance & Evaluation
  • Track enrollment, revenue, retention, and customer feedback for new initiatives.
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to leadership.
  • Make data-driven adjustments to maximize program success.
Qualifications
  • Tennis teaching and program management experience preferred.
  • Experience developing recreational, educational, or sports programming.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
