The Resident Director position isOpen Until Filled so that we can find the ideal candidate for our amazing team.
Are you someone who is organized and innovative? A self-starter who is motivated, positive, and has a strong desire to help others? If yes, then this is the position for you!
As a Part-Time Resident Director, you will be vital to the daily management and function of UCC's housing facilities. Resident Directors are live-in staff who respond to immediate and ongoing needs and issues within the housing facilities. RD's assist with Operations and Facilities processes as well as completing on-going inventory and health and safety inspections among other duties. RD's manage Resident Assistants and work closely with the Housing Coordinator.
COMPENSATION:
  • Furnished Room/Apartment with utilities and internet at no cost. Valued at $13,200 annually.
  • $1,500 stipend per term (paid at the end of each term).
  • Benefits Include: free practical knowledge of crisis intervention, event planning, goal setting, interpersonal communication, supervision, time, and stress management skills.
  • This is a yearly value of: $19,200

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Students must maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
  • Good disciplinary record.
  • Must live in residential buildings.
  • Time away is subject to approval by Housing Coordinator and Director of Student and Community Services and Title IX Coordinator.
  • Staff are considered single residents and are to follow all housing policies. Any deviations are to be considered on a case by case basis.
  • RDs are considered a 19 hour per week position with peak and lull seasons. All 19 hours are to be tracked via Outlook Calendar.

Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to balance academic work, college activities, other employment, and residence hall responsibilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to accept diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
  • Should possess good listening skills.
  • Can establish clear boundaries between all housing staff and residents.
  • Be reliable, dependable and responsible.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Have a base knowledge of college policies and procedures and ability to uphold college policy.
  • Must work well with others in a collaborative and problem-solving setting.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic nature.

Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications:
  • One year experience as Resident Assistant preferred.
