Job description

The successful candidate for the Director of Operations position will have several years of management  experienced in a field service industry or trades. They must be a native speaker in Spanish. Being fluent in Portuguese also is a bonus.

Reports to:  General Manager

Overview:  The Director of Operations is responsible for day-to-day activities of the company with a primary focus on customer satisfaction, profitability, and employee engagement. 

Primary Responsibilities:

1.     Lead, manage, and hold accountable teams and individuals in the following areas:

a.     Operations

b.     Account Management

c.     Asset Management

d.     Human Resources

e.     Subcontractor Management

2.     Ensure quality standards are being met

3.     Support sales efforts

4.     Support leadership team 

5.     Foster and maintain positive relationships with all constituents and strategic partners

Lead, Manage, and Hold Accountable:

·    Establish goals & priorities for teams and direct reports

·    Meet regularly to review goal progress, identify issues, and correct them

·    Review numbers (dashboards, scorecards, reports) to identify issues, and correct them

·    Maintain high levels of employee engagement

·    Approve work schedules, time off requests, vacations, etc.

·    Lead employee recognition and reward programs and systems

·    Manage discipline actions when needed

Ensure Quality Standards:

·       Inspect work regularly to assess work quality

·       Establish standards where needed

·       Develop and oversee training programs – new-hire on-boarding, weekly, seasonally, on-the-job

·       Coach and motivate staff through informal and formal interactions

Support Sales Efforts:

·       Assist with new sales, enhancement sales, and renewals when needed

·       Assist with estimating properties when needed

·       Assist with sales presentations when needed

·       Assist with new client on-boarding to ensure smooth handoff to operations

Support Leadership Team:

·       Actively participate in Leadership Team meetings

·       Actively participate in Strategic Planning meetings and strategic plans

·       Champion strategic initiatives with enthusiasm and positivity

·       Maintain confidentiality

Foster Positive Relationships:

·       Work to develop solutions to issues and problems

·       Seek input and build consensus before making big decisions or taking action

·       Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
