Director of Operations – Gastroenterology

Lead operational excellence and help shape the future of a growing Gastroenterology division.

Raleigh Medical Group is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Operations to provide operational leadership for our Gastroenterology division. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, leading administrative and operational teams, improving workflows and processes, supporting financial performance, and partnering closely with physicians, clinical leadership, and executive leadership to drive growth and operational excellence.

The Director of Operations plays a key leadership role in ensuring efficient clinic operations, exceptional patient experiences, and successful execution of strategic initiatives across the GI division.


Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership and execute organizational initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
  •  Monitor operational and financial performance using key metrics to drive efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Partner with Finance and Revenue Cycle leadership to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Lead workforce planning efforts, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and staff development.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of organizational policies, procedures, and human resources practices.
  • Oversee Operations Supervisors and other assigned leaders while providing coaching, guidance, and performance management.
  • Evaluate productivity, operational performance, and goal achievement; implement solutions to improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology teams to resolve operational system issues and implement workflow-enhancing technologies.
  • Identify and implement technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and the patient experience.
  • Partner with Clinical Directors to improve processes, solve operational challenges, and support clinic performance.
  • Lead change management efforts related to policies, procedures, and operational protocols.
  • Review financial reports and operational data to support informed business decisions.
  • Coordinate provider onboarding efforts and support physician transition planning.
  • Work closely with Facilities leadership to support maintenance projects, regulatory compliance, and environmental safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with physicians and executive leadership on strategic planning and expansion opportunities.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including vendor selection, contract oversight, and service performance.
  • Review patient satisfaction data and implement action plans to address opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as a resource for physicians regarding operational concerns and process improvements.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and recognition events.
  • Maintain knowledge of HIPAA requirements and ensure operational compliance.
QualificationsRequired:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of operations management experience.
  •   Experience leading projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
